1.
To
Whom
it
May
Concern:
I
have
known
Trang
Thuy
Ta
since
the
beginning
of
her
junior
year.
She
was
a
student
in
my
Grade
11
English
Language
Arts
class,
and
now
I
have
the
pleasure
of
having
her
in
two
of
my
dual-‐enrollment
courses:
Academic
Writing
and
Creative
Nonfiction
Writing.
Trang
is
a
creative
writer
at
heart,
however
she
has
also
responded
well
to
the
challenge
of
writing
scholarly
analysis
and
argument
essays.
Trang
is
a
student
who
will
surprise
you.
She
is
an
introvert
and
may
seem
quiet
at
first,
however
once
she
feels
comfortable
talking
or
writing,
you
will
see
that
she
is
a
deep
thinker
with
a
natural
propensity
toward
reflection
and
analysis.
She
is
not
afraid
to
examine
herself,
or
to
admit
her
strengths
and
her
weaknesses.
For
a
high
school
senior,
she
demonstrates
a
rare
level
of
maturity
and
strength
of
character.
For
example,
Trang
won
the
role
of
Student
Council
president
against
five
strong
candidates.
Her
speech
had
been
impressive
and
unique;
it
was
more
like
spoken-‐word
poetry
than
a
political
campaign.
After
a
month
of
doing
the
job,
she
realized
the
responsibilities
and
tasks
of
president
did
not
suit
her
personality
or
work
flow.
She
prefers
to
indulge
deeply
in
a
subject
or
project,
giving
her
full
attention
and
creativity
to
the
work
at
hand.
Trang
decided
that
her
senior
year
would
be
better
spent
focused
on
her
studies
and
creative
pursuits
in
order
to
prepare
her
for
university.
She
displayed
the
humility
and
grace
to
step
down
from
her
position
and
allow
the
runner-‐up
the
chance
to
lead
the
Student
Council
during
their
senior
year.
Another
role
in
which
Trang
has
impressed
me
was
as
an
editorial
member
of
the
school’s
Literary
Magazine.
Trang
served
as
a
panel
reader
and
plans
to
join
the
staff
again
this
year.
Her
feedback
on
essays
was
always
constructive
and
graceful.
She
was
able
to
see
the
creative
strengths
of
submissions,
even
if
they
were
riddled
with
grammar
and
spelling
mistakes.
Her
positive
attitude
and
her
ability
to
give
relevant
constructive
criticism
make
her
a
valuable
member
of
the
editorial
team.
Her
own
creative
nonfiction
is
also
strong,
carrying
a
unique
and
honest
personal
voice
in
addition
to
a
mature
use
of
sensory
imagery.
I
highly
recommend
Trang
for
acceptance
to
your
program.
She
is
detail-‐
oriented,
honest,
hardworking,
and
creative.
I
look
forward
to
seeing
her
hone
her
creative
and
academic
interests
as
she
pursues
her
college
education.
Sincerely,
