Robots that can be bought directly by consumers and that help them in various activities.
• Inclusions: Companies which develop physical robots that interact
directly with the consumer at their homes or office to accomplish a
certain task. The tasks can be social interaction, entertainment
(intelligent toys, sports accessories), productivity enhancement,
communication, mobility(such as exo-skeletons), household chores
(cleaning, lawn mowing, cooking etc.) and learning. The feed also
includes companies which develop software (computer vision, speech
recognition etc.) or hardware modules specifically for consumer robots.
• Exclusions: Physical Robots which are aimed at industries
(manufacturing automation, warehouse automation etc.) and
Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. 3D Printers are robots but they are
excluded, and similarly smart cars (robots for transportation) are
excluded. Generic consumer goods which provide automation are
excluded such as Washing Machines, Dishwashers etc.
• Excludes funding information of Chinese companies
