are separatedintomanygenressuchas science fiction,action,romance,dramatic,andsoforth.In
addition,science fictionisone of the mostpopularkindsof movie genresthese daysamongall.
Science fictionisfictional science-basedcharacterizationsof phenomena suchas alienworlds,
extrasensoryperceptionandtime travel, alongwithfuturisticelementssuchasspacecraft,robots,
cyborgs, or othertechnologies.Nevertheless,everymovie hasitsowndifferences. Forexample,
“HungerGames” and “Avatar”are two differentmovies thatcome fromthe same genre.The movie
“HungerGames” wasdirectedby Gary Ross and wasreleasedonthe yearof 2012. On the other
hand,the movie “Avatar”was directedby JamesCameron andwasreleasedonthe year2009. In
these twomovies,there are differencessuchasplot,characters,settingandclimax.
Firstand foremost,the plotof the movie “HungerGames” isone of the differences.Firstof all,
there are thirteendistrictsendeavouredtostarta revolutionagainstthe Capitol.Asthe Capitol has
won,the punishmentis ayearlybroadcasteddeathmatchcalled“The HungerGames”.From the
agesbetween12 and18 are chosenrandomlyina “reaping”fromeach district - two participantsas
one male and one female,knownascommendations.Nonetheless,KatnissEverdeenisa16-year-old
girl fromDistrict12 whovolunteeredforthe 74th HungerGamesafterher 12-year-oldsisterwas
beingpicked. Theyare broughttoan arena and fightuntil onlyone isleftalive.She survivedthe
gamesalongwithPeetaMellarkwhenthe bothof themwentagainstthe Capitol bymenacingto
commitsuicide.Next, the movie,“Avatar”alsohasdifferenceslikeplot.Firstly,the paraplegic
Marine Jake Sullydecidestogoon a missioninthe distantworldof Pandora.There he metthe
corporate titularhead,ParkerSelfridge'splansof chasingawaythe native humanoidNa'vi tomine
for the preciousmaterial.Nevertheless,Jake gatheredintel forthe militaryunitleader,Colonel
Quaritch,while at the same time tryingto infiltrate the Na'vi peoplewiththe use of an"avatar"
identityinexchangingforthe spinal surgerythatwill fixhislegs.Afterthat,the restlessColonel
movesaheadwithhisheartlessexterminationploysandattackback in an epicbattle forthe fate of
PandorawhenJake beginstobondwiththe native tribe andfallsinlove withNeytiri.
Furthermore,one of the charactersinthe movie,“HungerGames”that is KatnissEverdeen isa16-
year-oldgirl livesinDistrict12. She is a brave girl that she stoodout forher sisterin volunteeringfor
the 74th HungerGames as hersisterisstill young.Moreover,she isalsoagile asshe acts fastin
savingherself frombeingkilledbyusingherbow andarrows.Otherthan that,she is alsowillingto
sacrifice forhersisteras she knowsthatshe could have or will die inthe HungerGamesandstill she
volunteeredinordertosave hersister.Besides,one of the charactersinthe movie,“Avatar”which
isthe character, Neytiri isknownas a Na'vi people.She isaformidable warriorastoher respectfor
life.Besidesthat,she isalsoreallyskilledinclose-range combatwithherknife andalsoshe knows
howto lookfor chancesinorder to save people like the scene ColonelQuaritchwasdistractedwhen
tryingto slitJake'sthroatand had not noticedNeytiri'sactionsandshe managedtokill the deadly
warrior,Colonel Quaritch.
Moreover, the one of the settingin“HungerGames” isthat it occurredinthe woodsoutside of
District12 where she and Gale Hawthorne,herfriend wentforhuntinginthe woods.A dome
createdby the Capitol where the HungerGamestake place.Inaddition,all competitorsgotkilledin
the dome,as theyneedtosurvive until one personisalivebutinthe 74th Hunger Gamesthere are
twosurvivorswhichare KatnissEverdeen andPeetaMellark becausetheythreatenthe Capitol by
committingsuicide.For“Avatar”,one of the setting isPandorawhere the scientistsuse Na'vi-human

the Na'vi’s foresthome,where the fighttodrive off the Na'vi peopleandwhere Neytiri’sfatherdied

large splinter.
Last butnot least, the mostinterestingandexcitedpartof the movies,climax.Firstly,forthe movie
“HungerGames”, the climax washavingdefeatedthe othertributes,KatnissandPeetathreaten
suicide ratherthanfightingafterarule change turns themfromalliesintoadversaries.Thispartof
the story made the movie verythrillingand anunpredictable result forthe watchers. Next,forthe
movie “Avatar”,thispart isveryexcitedandinteresting inthe movie.Whenthe Humansshotthe
gianttree downand the people hadtomove and the people inthe foresthome ishopeless,then
Jake came andhe helpedthembyfightingthe navy'stodefeattheirtribe foresthome. Afterthat,
there wasa battle betweenJake andColonelQuaritchbutthe colonel waskilledby Neytiri.
Inthe nutshell, moviesare differenteventhoughsome of themcome fromthe same genre.
Therefore,the plot,character,settingandclimax are the differencesbetweenthesetwosame genre
movieswhichmade the movies more interesting,excitingandthrilling. However,we all shouldbe
thankful thatwe getto watch amazing moviestoday.
