- Instituted a training matrix that informs team members of upcoming training and monitors
participation.
- Introduced a quarterly fitness program aimed at reducing on the job injuries.
- Developed the standard operating guidelines for the department’s hydrogen cyanide monitor.
Jefferson Smurfit Corporation
- Managed the top producing shift with a 92% efficiency rating.

- Selected as the Outstanding Junior Military Officer for my battalion as a result of two perfect
Operational Readiness Surveys.
TRAINING
Hoffman Estates Fire Department
- Created, trained, and implemented the villages’ Ebola emergency response plan in conjunction with
two other outside agencies.
- Responsible for developing quarterly training for 100 firefighters including inter-agency training with
St. Alexius Medical Center and the South Barrington Park District.
- Created and implemented training on air purifying respiratory masks that is being used internally as
well as by several other nearby fire departments.
Jefferson Smurfit Corporation
- Trained personnel on a preventative maintenance program that reduced mechanical downtime and
lowered the maintenance budget.
United States Army
- Selected to be the liaison officer for a British Special Forces Unit as they were led through seven
different combat scenarios.
William Rainey Harper College
- Adjunct Instructor in the Fire Science, and Emergency Management Programs at Harper College.
Developed the curriculum for three college level courses and am currently developing a summer
camp program for middle school students.
- Assist with the recruitment of new students at several career and educational fairs throughout the
year resulting in the programs highest enrollment in 5 years.
2. ADMINISTRATION
Hoffman Estates Fire Department
- Member of the Illinois Department of Public Health Stakeholder Committee, responsible for the
development of a Crisis Standard of Care for the State of Illinois.
- Attended ISO 31000 Risk Management, pending certification.
- Developed the department’s funeral policy and awards and recognition program.
- Coordinated federal reimbursements that allowed four firefighters to attend Hazardous Materials
training at no cost to the village.
- Facilitated the Citizens Fire Academy for the past eight years with a reduced budget while
expanding training to include a live fire exercise.
