poverty and HIV/Aids. Millions in city slums
and rural farms equally struggle to survive.
Meanwhile –
• Africa’s churches have largely focussed
on spiritual need. And raising money for
handouts.
• The West has taught churches to be
dependent. To believe there is nothing
they can do to end their plight – despite
Africa’s churches - so often strong in faith and worship.

Strategy to train church leaders –
• To see the gospel as also about meeting
day to day needs
• To recognise everyone can do something
because no one is helpless

conferences, in some of Africa’s most
needy places –
• Those who would have had to beg, steal or
go hungry can learn skills that can put bread
on the table
• Family after family are gaining a
secure future
• Whole communities – urban and rural – are Without The Samaritan Strategy, these children would never have had
beginning to be released from poverty the education they need to lift them out of poverty.
5. CMS Africa hopes to hold over 100 more Samaritan Strategy conferences next year
– in Rwanda, Tanzania, Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, Sudan, Uganda, Ghana and Nigeria.

• Many more who will share the gospel in deed as well as word
• More jobs. More projects that attack poverty. And more people coming to know Jesus.
