1. David Ross Biography for L&T Conference
David joined the then University of Paisley in 2006 as Director of the Centre for Academic and
Professional Development (now the Centre for Academic Practice and Learning Development).
Previous to that he had spent 22 years at the University of Abertay Dundee where he went from
Senior Lecturer in Chemistry to Head of Department of Science and latterly as Director of Quality
Enhancement.
He graduated with first and second degrees in Chemistry from the University of Strathclyde before
spending 7 years as a Senior Technical Manager in Procter and Gamble.
David has extensive higher education experience as a teacher and educational developer – he has
worked throughout his time in education as an expert in quality assurance and enhancement, both
across the UK and abroad.
