In 2010, The Sioux Empire Home Market experienced the first signs of softening. Total Homes Sold
in 2010—decreased 17.2% from 2009. The inventory of “available homes for sale” has increased

slightly, still at low levels with only 53 homes for sale on Jan 1st, 2010. The average sales price has
increased to $195,453 from $190,021 in 2009. Average days on market was up 6 days to an average
of 94 days. Sales in the $200,000 to $250,000 range increased 62% over 2009 due to an increase in
the sale of New Construction Homes and a segment of home buyers taking advantage of record low

interest rates. A dramatic decrease of 64% was seen in the $160,000 to $180,000 price range
attributed to the expiration of the Home Buyer Tax Credit.
