To Whom It May Concern:
My introduction to Todd Breton in 2011 was a source of distress: a co-worker had suggested I would be
a suitable co-presenter at a large industry conference the following spring. I was paired with a stranger
who worked for another carrier, in another part of the country. Already apprehensive about the
presentation, the thought of working with someone I did not know made the situation even less appealing.
From our first telephone conversation, Todd put me at ease. He forwarded his outline for the
presentation, welcoming my input. When we did meet I found him to be professional, yet approachable.
Both qualities made our collaboration in preparing for the presentation, as well as the presentation itself, a
success.
I learned a lot from Todd in those months: I had never put together anything more than a short in-house
talk on claims topics, but he showed me the value of using an outline, and then fleshing out the areas we
felt were most important. He was able to provide examples from his prior presentations to help me
understand how the information could come together in a cohesive manner. I cannot imagine anyone
else, upon realizing my lack of experience for the task at hand, taking the time to work with me rather
than requesting someone else be assigned to work with them.
Since 2012, we have stayed in touch, working together again when a similar project was filmed for
training use. I would not hesitate to work with him, and would consider him a resource if I was looking
for advice on developing a training session: since our presentation, I put together a training program for
the rollout of our new claims system using many of the strategies I learned working with Todd. That
program turned out to be well-received and effective.
