An eutectic mixture is a mixture of several components is a
particular ratio, which melts sharply below the melting point of
any individual component..
Eutectic Mixture:
Eg- Menthol, Thymol.

5. PRINCIPLES OF EUTECTIC MIXTURE
 Below the eutectic temperature the mixture
of the two mixture of the two substances will
exist as a solid..
 While above it the mixture will convert into a
liquid.

7. FACTORS AFFECTING THE FORMATION
OF EUTECTIC MIXTURE
 This is because unadjusted ratios and presence of impurities may causes
imbalance to the mixture and throw all the solidification point.
It is necessary to adjust the ratio of the components in the mixture.
It is also necessary to closely control the components of
impurities

8. Uses
 It becomes necessary to identify the formation of eutectic mixture
between components of formulation to avoid the problems of
manufacturing.
 It is commonly used in drug designing and delivery processes for
various routes of administration

Some eutectic mixture are :
Curcumin - Nicotinamide(1:2)
Ibuprofen – Thymol (2:3)
Borneol – Menthol(1:9)
