2. INTRODUCTION
Data Logger
• Electronic device
• Records data from some type of sensor
• Stores it in local memory
Photosynthesis
• Process by which plants use energy from
sunlight
• To produce sugar then converted into ATP
• ATP is energy used by living things in
cellular respiration
3. ENGAGE- brainstorming
Situation A Situation B
1. What are the 3 things that plants need to
perform photosynthesis?
2. Do you think the pictures above have 3
things that you just mention earlier?
3. Do you think that these aquarium plant
really need carbon dioxide?
4. Do you think the aquarium plant will dies if
there is no carbon dioxide left behind?
4. EMPOWER

RESULTS DISCUSSION
1. What is the purpose of placing water tank
between Hydrilla and the bench lamp?
To prevent a change in temperature.
2. Why did we use sodium hydrogen carbonate
solution instead of distilled water?
Distilled water causes stomata to close and
reduce CO2.
3. According to the results, what is the effect of
carbon dioxide concentration on the rate of
photosynthesis?
When concentration of CO2 increases, the rate of
photosynthesis also increases.
6. ENHANCE
It appears that the average rate of photosynthesis and carbon
dioxide concentration have a direct relationship. To put it another
way, when carbon dioxide levels rise, so does the rate of
photosynthesis.
7. EXTENSION
When leaves were tested with iodine solution, the covered area
remain unchanged while uncovered area change leaf colour to Blue-
black. Why is this happen?
