Orion’s Point Southampton
Working with national investor and operator Liberty Living, we were appointed to initially extensively refurbish and convert a 12 storey office block. In addition we
then identified an opportunity to construct a new 16 storey student living block. We worked through a challenging planning process and secured an approval in
October 2012. The scheme delivers 430 bedrooms in a phased process,

This incorporates window design, robust and effecient interfaces and cladding
material selection.
We understand how Mechanical and Electrical services can be integrated and
distributed efficiently in full coordination with the layout designs.
We have a wealth of varying designs / solutions for:
Bedrooms, kitchens / living rooms and clusters, studios / townhouses. We
also have a thorough understanding of ancillary facilities such as management
suites, common rooms, study zones, laundries, gymnasiums etc.

Specifications and product diversity model bedroom design
Lewis & Hickey were appointed by Liberty Living to produce and coordinate the production of a ‘Model Specification’ manual. The manual contains concept CGI
images, room data sheets and associated specifications, which have been compiled on behalf of and in conjunction with Liberty Living to establish a consistent
approach to the design and refurbishment of existing student residential accommodation. This information acts as key reference points for use within Liberty
Living’s procurement project management team, ultimately allowing the student accommodation provider to undertake standardised refurbishment building
projects on any property with their portfolio.
