AMD’s new chief executive Rory Read, is determined
that India will play a critical role in its upturn.
Rory Read’s enthusiasm was due to the fact that
AMD’s India sales grew 36% in India.

One of the topmost priority for AMD is to regain
customer trust that it apparently lost on account of a
few defective supply contracts.
AMD is betting on its new model of accelerated
processing units or APUs, that combine power of
traditional processors and specialized graphics
processors.

As technology companies around the world debate the
impact of global economic uncertainties on their
business, the world’s second largest computer chip-
maker, AMD, expressed confidence that India will drive
the growth momentum.
