A German national, Chef Markus enjoyed his diverse career and
journey in culinary arts since the age of 15, through several renowned
restaurants in Germany. Chef Markus has worked in 2-star Michelin
restaurant “Restaurante Da Gianni” in Mannheim and 3-star
Michelin restaurant at the Hotel Schloss Berg, Nennig. Chef Markus
commenced his career with Hyatt as Sous Chef at Hyatt Regency
Cologne in February 2006. Prior to joining Grand Hyatt Erawan
Bangkok, Chef Markus continued his journey with Hyatt as Executive
Sous Chef at Grand Hyatt Hong Kong in May 2015.
Outside culinary arts and kitchen
operations, Chef Markus enjoys
relaxed hobbies such as fishing.
Cooking and searching for new
inspirations with flavours remain a
big part of his life. “I love and enjoy
barbeque with friends and family,
and of course, I love to visit the
markets to search for new
inspirations and push boundaries of
kitchen and culinary arts,” Chef
Markus said.
