1. DSP Employee Achieves Master Black Belt
Certification
Theron McGee achieved his Six Sigma Master Black Belt
Certification on September 16, 2016. His certification as a
Master Black Belt (MBB) enables him to provide the lead for
problem solving activities at Dearborn Consolidated Plants.
Ford uses Master Black Belts in a very specialized way. They
are expected to fulfill three roles including teaching and
mentoring Six Sigma Black Belt and Green Belt Candidates,
coaching teams with project selection and scoping, and leading
large projects that deliver results that positively impact the corporate
performance.
Theron pursued the MMB certification immediately after receiving his initial Black
Belt Certification in 2013. “I really enjoy problem solving and effectively leading
teams to effective solutions to problems,” said Theron.
Theron graduated with the Wave 37 MBB Class that was assigned to develop a
prediction equation using Global Quality Research System (GQSR) data and JD
Power Initial Quality Survey (IQS) data. This team identified the strongest
correlations between GQRS and JD Power’s IQS for the best opportunities for Ford
and Lincoln to improve things gone wrong (TGW) and customer satisfaction.
The Six Sigma methodology aids Theron in his current job function and will play a
pivotal role in his future assignments with Ford.
Theron stated his goal is to “continue to teach the problem solving methodology
at Ford and at the college level, mentor Black Belt and Green Belt Candidates to
project completion and certification, continue to lead the way with problem
solving initiatives that reduce cost, and drive continuous improvement activities
that deliver superior results that surpass expectation.”
