2. Christmas is about the arrival of a majestic
King who has come to establish His Kingdom
for those who belong to Him.
3. For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given;
and the government shall be upon his
shoulder, and his name shall be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
4. Of the increase of his government and of
peace there will be no end,
on the throne of David and over his kingdom,
to establish it and to uphold it
with justice and with righteousness
from this time forth and forevermore.
The zeal of the LORD of hosts will do this
(Isaiah 9:6-7).
6. I will put enmity between you and the
woman, and between your offspring and her
offspring; He shall bruise your head, and you
shall brush his heel (Gen. 3:14).
7. But when the fullness of time had come, God
sent forth His Son, born of woman, born
under the law, to redeem those who were
under the law, so that we might receive
adoption as sons (Gal. 4:4).
8. For God so loved the world that He gave his
only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not
perish but have eternal life (John 3:16).
9. II. Our King has come in the Majesty of His
Name (v. 6).
