Yousef Harfi is a certified software test and quality assurance professional with twenty years of
experience. Before joining Medavie Blue Cross as a quality control lead analyst and as a test
lead in 2011, Yousef enjoyed many years working with and leading projects in the mobile testing
field with organizations such as Motorola and Blackberry. Yousef’s extensive worldwide travels
and his leadership of test teams as diverse as our world give him a unique perspective on
diversity and building high performance test teams.

• Children and teenagers are more prone to conform.
• Conformity is needed - services and service personnel
• You are not like us = you are wrong
• But, if you are not prepared to be wrong, you are not likely to
come up with anything original
• Being different for the sake of being different = Negative

• Globalization, and the changing faces—in terms of language, culture, and
religion—of both customers and workers will represent an even more
diverse mix
• People living longer and retiring later, resulted in distinct
generations working side by side—each with its own mind-set, work
habits, technology attitudes, and customs
