Miami University - Department of Kinesiology and Health, March 2015 - Present
An undergraduate research assistant in a project run by Dr. Karly Geller and Dr. Tammy Schwartz of
Miami University. Research efforts are based in Cleveland, Ohio in the areas that surround four schools.
Team physically walked the streets of Cleveland and counted many variables such as: if there were
sidewalks, fresh produce available, safe playgrounds, two lane roads, apartments, houses, etc. Following
the collection of the data, compiled the data into an interactive map to share with the parents, students
and teachers in the community. In order to do this, I taught myself how to use a geographic information
system (GIS) program.
Miami University - Department of Educational Psychology, February 2015 - Present
An undergraduate research assistant to Professor Ashley Johnson in the founding of Miami University's
Inclusive College Experience (ICE). Spent six months planning for a week long college experience for
individuals with and without intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD). Our efforts included
fund-raising, creating a schedule for the rooms, finding and keeping in contact with participants,
organizing housing on campus, planning classes with professors as well as many other tasks to make the
week run smoothly. Assigned as Resident Assistant as well as a one-on-one match for a young man with
Autism.

Miami University, Wilks Leadership Institute: 2016 High School Leadership Conference, April 15th, 2016
• Selected to present at multiple sessions to high school leaders from twenty local high schools at
the annual High School Leadership Conference. Speaking about advocacy and disability rights, as
well as how they can make a difference at their schools.
26th Annual Best Buddies International Leadership Conference, July 17-20, 2015
• Taught three hour long breakout classes to interested participants from around the world about
the Best Buddies Friends Choir in an effort to expand the Best Buddies Friends Choir
internationally.
Miami University - Human Rights and Social Justice Program:Invited to Present at the Following Events:
• Annual Unidiversity Festival, October 2014 representing Best Buddies International and the Best
Buddies Friends Choir.
• Panelist for Innovative Approaches Addressing (Dis)Ability through Arts, Sport and Recreation.
Presentation focused on personal experience leading the Best Buddies Friends Choir and the
positive impact music has on individuals with and without intellectual and developmental
disabilities.

Best Buddies Ohio Oxford and Columbus, Ohio February 2016 - Present
One of three employees hired to begin the development of Best Buddies, International, in Ohio. Part-time
employee in charge of determining local leadership, planning fundraisers, and organizing sponsorships.
Study Abroad: Aging in Thailand Bangkok, Thailand January, 2016
Studied globalization and changing culture in the context of aging in Thailand. Paired with undergraduate
students from Mahidol University. Toured cultural sites in Bangkok and Chiang Mai to gain a better
understanding of Thai perspectives and values. Learned about demography and how the experience of
age varies by geographic and social location, cultural framework, and other factors.
Part-time Caregiver Columbus, Ohio May-August, 2014-2015
Provide care for a young man with four life-threatening disabilities. Administered food and life saving
medication through a gastrointestinal feeding tube. Assisted with entertainment and personal care.
