I had the opportunity to work with Tamara Johnson when I was a District InstructionalCoach and then as a
District Math Curriculum Specialist. I found Tamara to be passionate and committed in her work with students
and teachers. She searched for solutions that were the best for her schoolas a principal and then what was best
for the district as Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Schools. Tamara valued input from all stakeholders
and would routinely make time to work with various groups in coming up with innovative and forward
thinking ideas. I was fortunate in being able to be involved in some of these groups where we would look at
research and brainstorm possibilities to move our district forward in providing the best possible education for
students. Tamara did not see any task as impossible or too hard. It was simply that the kids depended on us. "
