This report summarizes the 2020 Extra Life United event, which raised $375,000 for the Children's Hospitals COVID-19 Impact Fund. Due to the pandemic, the event was held entirely online over 3 days. It included virtual esports tournaments with over 600 participants competing for $150,000 in prizes. Featured charity live streams by influencers and ambassadors raised over $70,000. A community hackathon challenged participants to develop new fundraising ideas through gaming and livestreaming that could potentially raise $900,000 more for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. The online event engaged over 1,800 community members through movie nights and gaming meetups.

The 3-day virtual event live stream saw 420K views, 1.75 million minutes watched, and
36,386 max ccu’s as 1,800 participants and celebrity influencers hosted charity live
streams and/or competed in esports tournaments for over $150k in life-saving funds for their
CMN Hospital.
The event raised $375K for the Children’s Hospitals COVID-19 Impact Fund, generated
27+ million social impressions and reached 13.2M people online!

Virtual Esports
Tournaments
Over 600 people competed in various
esports tournaments for a chance to win a
portion of the $150k prize pool on behalf
of their local CMN Hospital. Prize pool
winnings went towards the Children’s
Hospitals COVID-19 Impact Fund.
We also hosted Skillz Mobile Gaming
tournaments and Tetris 99 matches for
participants to win even more money for
their local children’s hospital.

Hackathon
We challenged the Extra Life community
to dream of new ways to fundraise
through gaming and live streaming for
local children’s hospitals.
The finalists gave four incredible
presentations in this shark-tank-syle show
to a panel of judges. Their collective ideas
each held great fundraising potential.
Collectively, these four ideas could raise
an additional $900,000 USD for Children’s
Miracle Network Hospitals!

7. Discord Movie
Night & Hangouts
Community engagement has always been
the heart of Extra Life United. To provide
meaningful ways for community members
to connect with each other, we hosted a
community movie night, volunteer-led
gaming meetups and sent welcome boxes
to those who were signed up to attend the
original event in Orlando, FL.
Over 1,800 community members attended
Extra Life United virtually and welcomed
nearly 800 new followers across our social
channels.
