The Public Health Agency of Sweden is responsible for communicable and non-communicable diseases surveillance, antimicrobial resistance (AMR) containment and infection prevention and control (IPC) in Sweden. It supports the development of the Global Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance System (GLASS) and chairs the WHO collaborating centre network for AMR containment. The Agency works with stakeholders like the National Board of Health and Welfare, Ministry of Health and Social Affairs, regional bodies, and hospitals on AMR and IPC issues through surveillance, guidelines, and policies.
