1. To Whom It May Concern:
The documents included with this letter signify that
has attained his or her GED®
Credential. The GED®
credential, earned on the basis of passing the GED®
test, signifies that the student has met all the requirements to be considered a High School graduate.
Starting October 20, 2014, the Office of the State Superintendent of Education of Washington, DC issues
this credential for students that take the GED®
test outside the United States. This credential is accepted
by over 97% of post-secondary institutions and employers within the United States and is recognized
worldwide.
The attached documents indicate that the student took and passed all the required GED®
test subjects to
earn his or her high school equivalency credential. GED Testing Service recommends that employers,
colleges, ministries of education, and other post-secondary educational institutions recognize the GED®
transcript/credential as equivalent to a US High School Diploma and accept it for entrance into post-
secondary programs, qualification for jobs, and for issuance of a local high school credential. The GED®
credential opens doors to new opportunities for students and GED Testing Service has no objection to the
student enrolling in post-secondary institution or program of their choice.
The GED®
Test
The GED®
test which was first developed in 1942 is a nationally recognized and accepted test for High
School equivalency in the United States. It measure students performance on English Reading, English
Writing, Math, Science and Social Studies and uses data from graduating high school seniors as the basis
for determining high school equivalency. The GED®
test is delivered in English. There are over 20
million students that have earned their High School Equivalency credential by passing the GED®
test.
Electronic GED®
Credentials
In order to increase document security, reduce fraud, and enable processing and distribution of
credentials, GED credentials for International students are fulfilled electronically. GED Testing Service
has partnered with Parchment to launch GED Credentialing®
, an electronic credentialing service that
allows test-takers and institutions to easily and securely request records. GED Credentialing®
issues a
secure, electronic transcript that uses patented PDF technology to verify the document received is the
same document that was issued the student. You do not need to submit a validation request to GED®
Testing Service to check the authenticity of the documents – the system will alert you if the transcript you
have received has been tampered or altered. While paper transcripts and credentials are still available, we
strongly encourage institutions to request electronic transcripts. To verify authenticity of the
transcript/credential, please see instructions on cover page of the transcript/credential.

How to Authenticate This Official Diploma
From The GED Testing Service
This official document has been transmitted electronically to the recipient, and is intended solely for use by
that recipient. If you are not the intended recipient, please notify the GED Testing Service at
http://gedsupport.parchment.com or call us at 1-888-906-4031. It is not permissible to replicate this
document or forward it to any person or organization other than the identified recipient. Release of this
record or disclosure of its contents to any third party without written consent of the record owner is
prohibited.
This official diploma has been digitally signed and therefore contains special characteristics. If this
document has been issued by the GED Testing Service, and this document is viewed using Adobe® Acrobat
version 6.0 or greater, or Adobe® Reader version 6.04 or greater, it will reveal a digital diploma that has
been applied to the diploma. This digital certificate will appear in a pop-up screen or status bar on the
document, display a blue ribbon, and declare that the document was certified by the Mount Elbert University
with a valid diploma issued by GeoTrust CA for Adobe®. This document certification can be validated by
clicking on the Signature Properties of the document.
The blue ribbon symbol is your assurance that the digital diploma is valid, the document is
authentic, and the contents of the diploma have not been altered.
If the diploma does not display a valid certification and signature message, reject this diploma
immediately. An invalid digital diploma display means either the digital signature is not authentic,
or the document has been altered. The digital signature can also be revoked by the diploma office
if there is cause, and digital signatures can expire. A document with an invalid digital signature
display should be rejected.
Lastly, one other possible message, Author Unknown, can have two possible meanings: The
diploma is a self-signed diploma or has been issued by an unknown or untrusted diploma authority
and therefore has not been trusted, or the revocation check could not complete. If you receive this
message make sure you are properly connected to the internet. If you have a connection and you
still cannot validate the digital diploma on-line, reject this document.
The diploma key and guide to diploma evaluation is the last page of this document.
