Susan Schoen is a self-employed office manager with Schoen Solutions, a food
brokerage business she currently owns with her husband, Daniel. Her
responsibilities include marketing, product development and accounting.
Prior to working with Schoen Solutions, she spent her career in the special event
planning and management industry. With over 25 years experience in both
destination management and venue sales, she has sold, planned and produced
private events for up 7,000 guests, including the 2003 MLB All-Star Gala at The Field
Museum and McDonald’s Family Nights at Brookfield Zoo.
In addition to event management, Susan developed sales and marketing strategies
for the event departments at both Brookfield Zoo and The Field Museum. She
created and implemented outbound marketing plans (including direct mail, social
media and trade shows) effectively increasing revenue and awareness at both
venues. She was a member of several industry associations including Choose
Chicago, Green Meeting Industry Council and Professional Convention Management
Association.
Susan grew up in Cincinnati, OH and received her B.A. in Marketing from Miami
University in Ohio. She lives in Riverside, IL and is very involved in her community.
She has planned events and volunteered for such organizations as Fenwick High
School, St. Mary Church, People Care and currently tutors at Circle Rock Catalyst
Charter School in Chicago. She and her husband have three children.
