Southern Arizona.

efforts, thousands of
dollars have been raised
for the Marana Food
Bank, but not enough to
remedy the hunger
epidemic that exists.

Him who strengthens me.
4. FOOTFALLS FOR FOOD HISTORY
In 2012, Dan raised $1,200.00 for the Food Bank while
training for a marathon. Friends and family donated a dime or
quarter for each mile completed. Dan ran over 400 miles in 3
months during this training.
In February 2013, Dan ran for 12 hours straight in Tucson,
Arizona, and raised $6,300 for the Food Bank. Dan ran a
grueling 55 miles. This money equates to more than 40,000
jars of peanut butter, an 18 month supply for the Food Bank.
Dan is currently training and preparing for his second 12 hour
run, which will take place in Tucson on January 25, 2014.
Dan hopes to complete over 60 miles this time in order to
raise as much money as possible for the Marana Food Bank.
5. Marana Chapter
Dan and his team have built great relationships
with the Food Bank personnel and know that they
are committed to the people who need its services.
For this reason, Dan will continue the Footfalls For
Food - 12 hour run as long as it raises awareness
and the much needed money for the Food Bank.
6. Marana Chapter
• With the money donated, and through quantity buying,
the Marana Food Bank will purchase over 9 times more
food than the average shopper at a grocery store can buy
with the same dollar.
• Food is purchased constantly so any money donated will
be used quickly to keep up with the reoccurring need.
• A simple dollar will buy 8-12 cans of food that many take
for granted.
• The Marana Food Bank serves 2300+ needy families in
the greater Tucson area on a monthly basis. On
November 26, 2013 alone, 309 families visited the
Marana Food Bank for assistance.
