190 kWp Lightweight Solar System at Stadtwerke Waldkirch

eArc. Replacing glass completely, eArc brings solar power to markets and

THE PROJECT
In April 2019, Stadtwerke Waldkirch GmbH, a local power provider, installed
a 190 kWp lightweight solar system on its facility in Waldkirch, Germany.
Stadtwerke Waldkirch has been looking to install solar since 2011, however
the facility’s titanium-zinc roof could not bear the load of conventional glass
solar panels. To overcome these structural limitations, the installation
company used Sunman’s lightweight solar panel — eArc. The modules were
installed with a K2 Clamping system and only put 4.7 kg per square meter of
additional load on the roof.

ULTRA-LIGHT
Standard 72 cells glass solar panels weigh up to 23 kg. Whereas
an SMA325M-6x12DW only weighs 9.6 kg (60% lighter)
FAST-INSTALLATION
An ultra-light solar panel results in easy handling and less time on
roof.
RELIABLE PERFORMANCE
Over 18 months of monitoring, the Stadtwerke Waldkirch system
generated 302,800 kWh, offsetting 146,900 Kg in CO2 emissions.
DURABLE
eArc is the first glassless module to pass the same durability tests
as conventional glass modules, including IEC 61215:2016,
IEC61730:2016 and UL1703（USA).
eArc has also passed PID, salt mist and ammonia corrosion tests
eArc MODULES
eArc is the world's first glassless solar module. An innovation
combining proven crystalline silicon solar cells with Sunman's
patented composite material, eArc has the same durability and
robustness of conventional glass modules.
The SMA series is equipped with a 35 mm aluminum frame.
SMA can be installed with conventional mounting hardware and
applied to roofs with insufficient weight bearing for glass
modules.
