3. • The Research team is working on an Encyclopedia of the
Mahabharata, Ramayana and Puranas
• The encyclopedia contains entries on the Puranic Characters,
Places, Tribes, and Rituals etc.
• The entries of the Encyclopedia are primarily based on the
information collected from the Sanskrit texts. But we had to
research on the different readings of the Texts, the modern
locations or identities of Mythical places and tribes. For this,
the research team consulted the books and papers of other
scholars too.
• As Research Assistant, my duty was to do these research
works and writing down the entries following the guidance of
Dr. Bhaduri. Besides, as the Team Leader it was my duty to
handle the office and to help and guide my junior teammates
as far as possible.
