2. Crash Bandicoot is a series of 3D platformers that were released for the original PlayStation. The franchise used to be
owned by Vivendi Universal (Universal Interactive at the time.), and published by Sony's subsidiary, Naughty Dog. Crash
was seen as a character that defined 90's gaming, up there with the likes of Mario And Sonic themselves, and all three
of them were seen as rivals. Crash's first game, simply known as Crash Bandicoot, was released in 1996. In 2000,
Universal cut ties with Naughty Dog and comissioned Eurocom to develope a Mario Party-style Crash game, known as
Crash Bash. In 2012, Activision purchased Vivendi Universal and the rights of both Crash and Spyro along with it. Due to
this, the Crash franchise went under a long hiatus. However, in 2017 and now under Activision's ownership, we got the
Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, which is a remake collection of the first three Naughty Dog-developed Crash games.
This game is actually available on the Nintendo Switch, so feel free to check it out if you'd like. We also got a remake of
Crash Team Racing, known as Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled, which released in 2019 and features content from both
Crash Team Racing And Nitro Kart. Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time! was release on October 2nd 2020.
What is Crash Bandicoot?
3. Crash Bandicoot is the titular character and main protagonist of the series of the same name. He is an Eastern barred bandicoot
living on N. Sanity Island, who was captured and evolved by Dr. Neo Cortex. Throughout the series, Cortex is Crash's usual arch-
enemy and is always defeated by Crash in order to keep peace on the island.
Coco Bandicoot is a recurring character in the Crash Bandicoot series and is the highly intelligent, cute, and spirited younger
sister of Crash Bandicoot. Just like her brother, Coco was an ordinary Eastern barred bandicoot until she was taken from the
jungle and genetically enhanced by Nitrus Brio and Neo Cortex, then later escaped on her own. She often aids Crash by using
her computer hacking techniques to assist him, building gadgets ideal for the situation or even tagging along with him in his
journeys, using self-taught martial arts to defend herself. She first appeared in Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, and her
first appearance as a playable character was in Crash Bandicoot: Warped. Since then, she has appeared in every Crash game.
55. Crash's home stage is N. Sanity Beach/Cortex Castle. Similarly with Mementos and Mushroomy Kingdom, the stage will be different depending
on what music is playing in the background. If the music is taken from a jungle level, the stage will be N. Sanity Beach. If the music is taken
from a boss fight or a Cortex level, then the stage will turn in to Cortex Island.
The stage offers something different between N. Sanity Beach and Cortex Island, such as cameos. On N. Sanity Beach, Coco, Crunch, and Aku
Aku all appear as cameos in the background. However, on Cortex Island, Cortex, Dr. N. Brio and N. Gin appear as cameos. Their are also plenty
of different hazards that go on. In N. Sanity Beach, you will encounter hogs that will run around sometimes, and can deal damage to
opponents. Sometimes the stage can break in half, which opens up bottomless pits, however, the ground eventually restructures itself after a
little bit. In Cortex Island on the other hand, sometimes fire bars appear on the sides of the stages and Cortex's robots sometimes walk across
the stage sometime. The Cortex Island version of this stage also has a boss, which is Cortex. Sometimes, Cortex will appear and will shoot balls
of electricity at the opponents, similar to his boss fight from the first game. You can defeat him by simply attacking him. This stage boss works
similarly to Flying Man in Magicant where if you damage Cortex just enough, he can team up with you to attack the opponents.
