The Mid-Year California Housing Market Forecast report released by
the California Association of Realtors (CAR) revealed that the total
seasonally adjusted annualized rate (SAAR) reached 389,690 units
in June 2019, which is 4.2 percent lower than the sales figure of the
previous month.

 June’s sales figure has fallen below the 400,000-benchmark and
has been there for 10 months out of the last 12.
Meanwhile, the median price of single-family homes increased
slightly from $611,190 in May 2019 to $611,420 in June 2019.
According to Jared Martin, the president of CAR, the rise in home
prices and low interest rates have resulted in a decrease in
mortgage payments over the last four months. At this rate,
homebuyers have the opportunity to save money on their current
homes or consider purchasing more expensive properties for the
same monthly mortgage payments.
