3. USE WORDS TO BUILD AND GROW
PERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Try to use words to communicate your
feelings with the people that you care
about.
Choose words that describe your
emotions at the same time, inviting the
people you speak with to respond.
Whatever words you choose to use, they
should reflect who you are and offer
room for the conversation to grow.
You should also take time to listen to the
response that you receive and make it a
point to improve your communication
skills.
Use Words To Advance Your Business.
Choosing the right words when
negotiating business deals is the secret
to signing major contracts.
4. Having a ton of skills
and excellent
marketing tactics will
get you nowhere if you
fail to give the same
attention to what
comes out of your
mouth.
5. Getting paying clients and growing your
business depends on knowing the right
words to use when negotiating deals.
It also depends on knowing when to keep
your mouth shut when tensions arise.
6. Instead of fueling the
fire when the
discussion starts
moving the wrong
direction, just keep
your mouth closed for
a few minutes and use
calming words to ease
the tensions.
A simple way of doing
this is to simply say, “I
propose we move the
negotiations to the
next day or a few
hours, what do you
think?”
7. Remember the wise
proverb, “A soft
answer turns away,
anger.”
You will be surprised
to find out that one
soft answer is all it
took to save your
relationship or stop
your business deal
from going south.

11. Do you remember the dreams you had when you were young?
Those ambitious aspirations about a rich, powerful and exciting lifestyle you often imagined?
Do you remember being sure you would one day attain them?
Maybe you would even tell people about them without any hesitation, or perhaps they were so big
you preferred keeping them to yourself to avoid being discouraged by those who thought they
were unattainable.
That life you saw back then was the abundant life you knew you were destined to live.

12. Maybe as a child, you didn’t dare dream so big because you just didn’t have anyone to model it for
you. Then you grew up and discovered you could become so much more than you had ever
believed you could be.
Your dream came alive, and you began to see yourself in high places, doing mighty things and
rubbing shoulders with fine people.
Either way you know them deep in your heart, your wildest dreams. Perhaps you still think of them
every once in a while and a flicker of hope comes up inside of you for a moment. Only you know in
the finest detail know where you should be.
But what is keeping you from getting there?
What is preventing you from living your best life?

13. I remember a certain high-performer in my high school who used to get A’s in all tests and exams.
One day after an exam, he was unhappy about a particular question he had failed to answer and
was going on and on about how he should have been more diligent in his preparation for the exam.
Another of his classmates, tired of his wallowing, remarked, “You always get the highest marks in
class, I don’t even know why you are complaining. The least mark you will probably get on this test
is a ‘B grade. The guy with a ‘C or ‘D isn’t even complaining.

14. You have to learn to be grateful
–and this was Mr. straight A’s reply, “We cannot be compared like that, as if we all have the same standards.
Someone gets sixty percent and is overjoyed because he had aimed to just pass an exam yet someone else
is devastated by a seventy-five because his aim was a ninety”
This was my takeaway from the last statement:
Own your dreams and have your scale set to measure your achievements. Do not compare yourself with
anyone, but relentlessly go for your goals.

15. Gratitude is good every step of the way because it keeps you positive and somehow opens up more
opportunities for good things to keep happening to you.
You also get to enjoy the journey despite challenges on the way if you have an attitude of gratitude.
If, however gratitude becomes all you have, then you risk being caught up in limitation and settling
for a half-full life.
By all means, celebrate your mini victories leading you to your macro-goal, but don’t be caught up
in them so much you end up comfortable before you have arrived at your destination.

Let the words you speak be progress-oriented.
At every stage, it is essential to look back and see how far you’ve come just to appreciate your
blessings and achievements, but what is more important is to look ahead and gear up for where
you are headed and be as clear as day about your final destination.
It doesn’t matter if it takes years or decades and many detours on the way. As long as you arrive at
the height of your life, using the right words, you will taste the sweet victory.
Oh, and try to enjoy this transformative journey as well.
This, is what makes it memorable!
