INHIBITING FACTORS TO YOUR LIBERATION CONT’D <ul><li>Poor attitude to learning </li></ul><ul><li>Wrong assumptions that tend to suggest that we know so many things we do not really know </li></ul><ul><li>Unguided cultural influence that imposes avoidable burden on us that often over bloat our dependency ratio </li></ul><ul><li>Poor state of educational system that places too much emphasis on theoretical postulations and white collar jobs </li></ul><ul><li>Absence or lack of self-analysis as we are busy looking outside to locate the sources of our problems </li></ul>
  13. 14. 6 . STEPS TOWARD SELF LIBERATION <ul><li>Personal vision statement – You must have a clear idea of what and where you want to be within a specified time frame. You must be able to create a mental picture of what you will be and where you will be. If you can visualise, then you can achieve it. A man without vision has nothing to run after. He is as good as dead. </li></ul>

STEPS TOWARD SELF LIBERATION CONT’D <ul><li>Personal Mission Statement – It is not enough to state what and where you want to be, it is equally important you express in clear terms how you want to get your vision achieved. </li></ul><ul><li>Relationship Between Vision & Mission – Vision is the destination. Mision is the road to the destination (promised land) called vision. </li></ul>

People don’t plan to fail, rather they often fail to plan. </li></ul>

It includes mobilisation of resources for the purpose of fulfilling your mission and attainment of your dreams. It is usually a testing and challenging phase in the liberation struggle as many distractions will come your ways. </li></ul>

STEPS TOWARD SELF LIBERATION CONT’D <ul><li>P erformance Evaluation – Assessment and reassessment of plans and objectives to determine their relevance and reality in the face of new development. It is also a period for assessing existing vision, mission & goals to determine the need for amendment/adjustment or change altogether. In otherword, our life plan and goals must be flexible enough to accommodate new development or reality . </li></ul>
