Dear Editor,
Is goodness newsworthy?
On a recent frip through Salem I left my purse at Costco. Stephen E Roth,
Primerica Financial Services, turned the purse into a Costco employee who
called to let me know where it was. When I picked it up, Mr. Roth's
business card was taped to it, and everything was inside.
The casualness of their honesty is what I wish to acknowledge. This was an
ordinary, everyday, procedure for Mr. Roth and the Costco employee.
How many pages would it take for your paper to report all the acts of
integrity and kindness in your circulationarea? What is the ratio of good
deeds to bad in a community? And isn't it nice that good folks and good
deeds are still in the majorrty and therefore don't make the headlines?
