1. -Navigate to Control Panel < Hardware and
Sound < Sound
-Select the USBPre2, set it to default, and click
on “Properties”
-Click the “Advanced” tab and select “16 bit,
48000 Hz (DVD Quality)” from the dropdown
menu
-Click “Apply” then “OK”
2. -Next, click on the “Recording” tab, highlight
the USBPre2, and set it to default
-Click on “Properties”
-Click on “Advanced” and select “2 channel,
16 bit, 48000 Hz (DVD Quality)” from the
dropdown menu
3. -Open the Camtasia Recorder and Navigate to
Tools < Options
-Under the Saving section in the “General” tab,
select “.avi” from the dropdown menu
-Click on the “Inputs” tab and select 15 or 30
from the frame rate dropdown
-Under the Audio section, select “Digital
Audio Interface (USBPre2)” from the Audio
device dropdown menu
-Set the slider to 50%, then click on Audio
settings…
4. -Set the Format option to PCM from the
dropdown menu
-Set the Attributes option to “48.000 kHz, 16
Bit, Stereo, 187 kb/sec”
-Before clicking OK, click “Save As…” to save this
format as a preset
-Click OK to return to the Options menu
-Click the Program tab
-Under the Workflow section, make sure that
the box labelled “Hide preview window after
recording is stopped” is checked
-Select “Save” from the dropdown menu
