1. How I like to travel
My thoughts about travelling

2. My travelling bag
1. X = The number of travel days. Packing less will help me bring more back (souvenirs)
2. X pairs of underwear
3. X t-shirts + shirts (I enjoy buying 2 - 3 t-shirts as souvenirs from the location)
4. 2 - 3 pairs of pants (switching outfits is fun) (this is for 1 week, 2 weeks max)
5. 1 small towel (I usually find more at the hotel)
6. 1 bag containing: tooth brush, antiperspirant, perfume, nail clipper
7. 1 backpack containing: laptop, phone, charging cables (! think about the type of outlets at the
destination)
8. Sometimes I also bring a paper with the location, phone numbers (hotel, taxis in the area, a mini
map, family) just in case (lack of internet, phone battery dead)
3. Attitude about travelling
I always have a courageous attitude while travelling. Not being afraid to ask locals for directions, I find
myself reaching the destinations I want to visit quite fast. Also, I ask them about parks, bars, fun places to
visit around the city (usually they are not on the internet).
I try to be as friendly as possible. Sometimes it is good to be brave, but in a different country I try to keep
it as safe as possible (by saying “Sorry”, “Greetings”, “Thanks” lots of times) as I don’t know what kind of
people I run into (who might have bad intentions). Although I try to only keep this in the back of my mind,
because all the people I saw/talked to in the countries I visited were really awesome.
Judging someone by it’s covers is easy to do in another country and I try to never do it. All people are
different and awesome because they are unique, so I’m never afraid to say Yes to opportunities.
4. Saying HELLO! to others
Really easy to do. I see someone on the street dancing? I’ll join them! Heard someone talking about
something that I know details about? I’ll join them!
I’m not afraid of joining the conversations of other people (only when it’s the case, doing this also might
result in awkward conversations, so I calculate my options before ^_^).
I also really love to go in dance cyphers, I find lots of new dancing styles, new attitudes and people are
really friendly (did this the last time I visited San Francisco and it resulted in an awesome dance battle).
5. Money
Urgh.. Most of the times I didn’t calculate how much money I need before/while/after travelling and I
dove head first. Some of the times I found myself in bad situations, where I had to sell something from
Romania via a friend and have him wire the money to me.
Overcoming this is really easy (so easy that everytime I ignored it, assuming that I can do it in my mind,
but I was bitten back quite a few times): Take a piece of paper, a pen and write down:
The amount of money you are willing to spend / Price of the plane tickets / Hotel price / Food money /
Souvenirs money / A “safe” amount that you don’t spend, but have there just in case. Writing as much
information and amounts will help you calculate everything better.
