Off site construction involves the process of planning , designing , fabricating , transporting and assembling
building elements for rapid site assembly to a greater degree of finish than in traditional piecemeal on site
construction .

AAC BLOCKS
Autoclaved Aerated Concrete Blocks are fast replacing traditional bricks in the construction industry. AAC is a foam
concrete material that is up to three times more lightweight than regular bricks. and hence is easy to handle and use
too.
AAC block prices range anywhere from INR 2000 to INR 4000 per cubic meter , depending on the manufacturer you
buy it from . As expected the cubic meter price will vary depending on how many prices you buy.

# Thermal efficiency is one of the biggest advantage of these AAC blocks.
# They keep the house pleasant during both summer and winter and reduce heating and cooling loads.
# The handle fire better than traditional bricks.
# These blocks are up to 3 times lighter in weight than traditional clay or cement blocks.
# These porous and airy material last really long and are not much affected by climatic change.
DISADVANTAGES OF AAC BLOCKS
# Improper installation can cause cracks in the structures of the blocks and this will affect the final finish of the
building .
# The porous material of AAC blocks means that they have to be handled carefully during loading and unloading .
# The fact that these are lightweight may make the labourers to handle them casually causing unwanted breakage.

# Not any mason can lay AAC blocks. These needs to be done only by experts.
# AAC block cannot handle heavy loads and are called non bearing materials . These should be mostly used for
partition walls.
