Wines from Mas de l’Estragó are high quality
spanish wines with D.O. Catalunya, a historic
wine region of Spain, a land of tradition and
great wines.
Our wines are made from the best local
varieties of the wine region of Penedés,
with an unique personality and a very special
character: young whites are soft and fresh and
the ones fermented in barrel are clean and
shiny, rosé wines are very aromatic, red wines
are fruity and tasty, and sparkling wines ‘cavas’
are elegant and rich.
WINE
To make the wines, we primarily work with the Tempranillo and Merlot varieties for rosé and red wines, and
with Macabeo, Xarel.lo and Muscat for white wines.
Each variety receives different treatment when it comes to making the wine, since we do not want to lose its
identity. So, each wine is made in a specific way and it is at the bottling stage that we do the blending and
obtain a high quality wine with an exceptional and versatile palate.
The difference between young and aged wine is that before it is bottled and once the blending is done, it is
stored in French oak barrels for a minimum of six months. This ageing process makes the wine adopt special
distinguishing aromas.
Varieties: Macabeu, Xarel-lo y Muscat
D.O.: Catalunya – Spain
Elaboration: Fermentation of the must flower at the
controlled temperature of 16º retaining the virtues of
each aromatic variety.
Tasting Notes: Note marked with citrus fruit nuances.
Smooth and balanced with a pleasant acid structure.
Return fruity apple and pineapple.
Food Pairing: Ideal for seafood, soups, creams and
fresh cheeses.

Varieties: Tempranillo y Merlot
D.O.: Catalunya – Spain
Elaboration: Intense and short, temp. controlled at 17º
Tasting Notes: Intense aroma of strawberries and
cherries, very soft and sweet in mouth, and a balanced
acidity giving freshness.
Food Pairing: Ideal as an aperitif. Perfect for bluefish,
soft meats, pasta, cream, gratinated vegetables and
rice.
Alcohol Content: 12 % Vol.
Serving Temperature: 7 - 12º C

RED YOUNG WINE
Varieties: Tempranillo y Merlot
D.O.: Catalunya – Spain
Elaboration: Each variety separated at 28º for 10 days.
Special maceration allows a good structure, good
colour and preserve the personality of each variety.
Tasting Notes: Aroma of ripe fruit gerds type and
currant. The palate is persistent and wide with fruity and
spicy notes.
Food Pairing: Recommended for red and white meats,
stews and all types of stew. Ideal for cured, semi-cured
and blue cheeses.
Alcohol Content: 13 % Vol.
Serving Temperature: 12 - 16ºC

RED WINE CRIANZA
Varieties: Tempranillo y Merlot
D.O.: Catalunya – Spain
Elaboration: Each variety separately. Twelve days of
controlled fermentation at 27º. Stabilization in stainless
steel. Aging in oak between 6 and 9 months.
Tasting Notes: Warm aromas of ripe berries with
melted vanilla and cinnamon fragrance. Wild fruits
mixed with notes of cocoa, coffee and oak.
Food Pairing: Recommended for red meats, all kinds
of roasts and stews. Ideal for cheeses.
Alcohol Content: 13 % Vol.
Serving Temperature: 14 - 16ºC

SPARKLING WINE
To make cava, we use indigenous varieties from the Penedés wine growing region. Early information we have
tells us that in Phoenician times, vines were grown in this area. Calcareous soil, abundant rain in spring and a
rigorous summer make it an ideal region for obtaining good juice.
An excellent quality wine is obtained from this juice in controlled fermentation. We only use first press wines
and after blending Macabeo, Xarel.lo and Perellada varieties, we provoke a second fermentation and after a
minimum of 18 months obtain the special reserve cava Mas de L’Estragó.
The process does not end until decapitation where we do not use dosage, therefore, we obtain an excellent
quality brut, curiously only slightly acidic and with a fruity, crystal clear and balanced return and with a very
comprehensive carbon.

Vintage: 2011 print run in 2012
Aging: Min. 20 months at controlled temperature
Alcohol Content: 11.5 % Vol.
Acidity: 4.7

Tasting Notes: Needle and very fine aroma with
notes of ripe fruit. Very fresh in mouth, dry,
balanced, elegant, fruity and very good presence.

IBERIAN CHORIZO
Iberian chorizo made from top quality pork meat from Iberian
pigs raised in Guijuelo, Salamanca, Spain.
The preparation process is traditional and uses the best natural
condiments for the sauce and meat from noble parts of the
Iberian pig, such as the pluma, bola and cruceta. It is sold just as
it reaches it optimum point of maturation.

Iberian pork loin (dry-cured pork loin, cured pork loin) is the star

Each variety receives different treatment when it comes to making the wine, since we do not want to lose its identity. So, each wine is made in a specific way and it is at the bottling stage that we do the blending and obtain a high quality wine with an exceptional and versatile palate. The difference between young and aged wine is that before it is bottled and once the blending is done, it is stored in French oak barrels for a minimum of six months.   • 20. SPARKLING WINE To make cava, we use indigenous varieties from the Penedés wine growing region. Early information we have tells us that in Phoenician times, vines were grown in this area. Calcareous soil, abundant rain in spring and a rigorous summer make it an ideal region for obtaining good juice. An excellent quality wine is obtained from this juice in controlled fermentation. We only use first press wines and after blending Macabeo, Xarel.lo and Perellada varieties, we provoke a second fermentation and after a minimum of 18 months obtain the special reserve cava Mas de L’Estragó. The process does not end until decapitation where we do not use dosage, therefore, we obtain an excellent quality brut, curiously only slightly acidic and with a fruity, crystal clear and balanced return and with a very comprehensive carbon.
