4. I have little time before going to the field and I would like to access my main KPIs at a glance.
Explore which area in my region is causing my cash-in value to go down (1/3)
In the Home module of the tool, if I click on the editing pen under Location I can filter by entering the name
of my region (e.g Bruxelles-capitale).
If I want to find out more about that KPI, all I need to do is click on it…
Then check the relevant KPI amongst the list of my main KPIs, i.e. cash-in value.
5. (1) …clicking on the KPI from the Home module, will allow me to directly land in the KPI Explorer
module, displaying all My Mobile Money KPIs and a Map view that outlines my pre-selected region in
the Home module (i.e Bruxelles-capitale).
Explore which area in my region is causing my cash-in value to go down (2/3)
(1)
(2)
(2) If I zoom in, I will notice in a colour code (red/yellow) which area(s) are doing badly in my
region in terms of the KPI that I have picked.
6. Orange - between 0% and 5% of
negative evolution. Not great!
Green - more than 0% of a positive
evolution. Well done!
Red - more than 5% of negative
evolution.We have a problem!
Explore which area in my region is causing my cash-in value to go down (3/3)
The coloured arrows next to the KPI, show
me how the KPI is evolving (1)
arrow down : KPI decreases
The legend on the bottom left corner
of the map will always help to
understand the colours. (2)
Colours will tell me how much the
evolution decreased or increased
compared to the previous period.

8. Now say I want to do a performance comparison over a certain period of time, how do I do it ?
Understand if my region has performed better compared to a certain period of time (1 /5)
Option 1: Select a predefined time period (1D, 7D, MoM, YoY).
Option 2: Select a custom period by using the Custom feature.
9. What does selecting a predefined period exactly mean? It means that my comparison
period will be automatically selected by the tool based on the rules listed below:
● 1D - Comparison of the last available day with the same day of the previous week.
● 7D - Comparison of the last available 7 days with the previous 7 days.
● MoM - Comparison of the available days for the current month with the same days
of the previous month.
● YoY - Comparison of the available days for the current month with the same days
of the previous year.
Understand if my region has performed better compared to a certain period of time (2 /5)
10. If I select the Custom period selection option, a calendar will open with two periods: actual vs comparison period.
For example: I want to compare the performance of the recharge revenue in the first 16 days of December 2019 with
the same period of the prior month.
Understand if my region has performed better compared to a certain period of time (3 /5)
1. I have to first select the period from 1st-16th of December 2019 in the actual period calendar
2. select in the comparaison period calendar the same number of days but for November 2019.
11. Understand if my region has performed better compared to a certain period of time (4 /5)
Note! These messages won't prevent me from selecting the desired timeframes, they just warn me about potential
mistakes and make sure that my selection was intentional.
However,”warning messages” may appear , in the cases listed below:
Case 1 Case 2 Case 3
1. If data are missing for any of the selected periods => “Actual or comparaison period is out of the available time range”
2. If the durations of the selected periods are different => “Comparison period length is not equal to the actual period length”
3. If the comparison period starts after the actual period=>”comparaison period starts after the actual period ends”
12. I want to understand if my region has better performed in terms of total voice revenue (or Data revenue)
during New year’s eve 2018 vs New year’s eve 2017. What I can do is :
Understand if my region has performed better compared to a certain period of time (5 /5)
● Go to the MyKPI Explorer module, under the My Subscriber KPIs.
● Select the total voice revenue (or Data revenue)KPI
● Choose the Custom period selection and pick 31 December 2018 in Actual period calendar vs 31th
December 2017 in the Comparison period calendar ).

14. Instead of comparing my performance to a past period as in the previous use case, I can also
compare it to a target I want to achieve.
I wish to check if I am ahead or behind a monthly target I have set for a certain KPI, how do I do so?
Figure out if I am ahead or behind of my targets (1/7)
● Go to the KPI Explorer module
● Pick a KPI (e.g cash-in value)
● Turn on the Target toggle next to the timeframe picker (otherwise I will be comparing to historical data).
15. Let’s take the example below , as soon as I’d turn on the Target setting, I will realise that my most
critical area will be displayed in red,in the top left corner.
In fact, from the 1st-4th May 2023, in the region called Namur, the area Eghezée is 46.8% behind my
preset monthly target, for the cash-in value KPI.
Figure out if I am ahead or behind of my targets (2/7)
16. If I use the Treemap view for this case,it will help me quickly visualise the most and least
performing areas of my region in terms of the overall impact on my regional performance. I will be
able to notice that:
Figure out if I am ahead or behind of my targets (3/7)
● The size of the rectangle is related to the value of the metric
● The least performing area in terms of being the most behind target, will be positioned in the top left corner.
● The most performing area in terms of being the closest to the target , will be positioned in the bottom right corner
● The problematic areas in terms of percentage will be represented by red rectangles.
● The areas with the most positive contribution will be represented by green rectangles
17. I can also use the List view, as it will allow me to sort the performance of the selected metric across my region based on
different criteria: the location (1) the value of the KPI(2), its evolution in absolute value (3) and its evolution in percentage(4). The
list is structured in four columns:
Figure out if I am ahead or behind of my targets (4/7)
1. The first one contains all the areas' names.
2. The second one depends on the selected KPI and shows the value of the selected KPI and timeframe for that area
3. The third one is the evolution in absolute value between the selected time period and its comparison time period
4. The last one is the evolution in percentage between the selected time period and its comparison time period
18. I want to see my largest areas in current
performance?
Figure out if I am ahead or behind of my targets (5/7)
And if I turn on the Target toggle, I will be
able to compare the evolution of the KPI
value to the Target I have set
If I click on the arrows in the second column
- the one that has the name of my selected
KPI in the header, then all my areas will be
ranked according to the evolution of the value
of the KPI
Sort the performance of the selected metric
across my region based on the value of the
KPI
19. Figure out if I am ahead or behind of my targets (6/7)
I want to focus on those areas that have lost a
significant part of their performance compared
to the comparison period?
=> Then clicking on the arrows of the third
column will rank and indicate the absolute
contribution to the KPI that I have lost due to
each area.
If I turn on the Target toggle, I will be able to
notice that my lowest performing region (i.e
Bruxelles-capitale) is $1,028 behind the
evolution in absolute value of my target
Sort the performance of the selected metric
across my region based on the evolution in
absolute value of the KPI
20. Figure out if I am ahead or behind of my targets (7/7)
In the opposite picture, if I turn on the
Target toggle, I will be able to notice that
the area that has lost the largest share of
its own contribution (i.e Anvers) is 1,6%
behind my target percentage.
If I want to investigate the areas that have
lost the largest share of their own
contribution - ranking on the fourth
column is the way to go
Sort the performance of the selected
metric across my region based on the
evolution of the KPI in percentage

22. Identify where could an issue with my recharges be coming from (1/5)
I have an issue with my recharges and I would like to investigate where could it be coming from, is it due to :
1. A certain KPI (e.g Network drop rate, Network congestion rate).
2. A certain channel through which my subscribers get their recharges from.
3. A less performing distributor.
4. A component of my Total recharge KPI
23. Identify where could an issue with my recharges be coming from (2/5)
Or I could use the graph view to do a
comparison between two KPIs that could
be correlated (e.g 3G data congestion rate
vs total recharge revenue)
In the KPI Explorer, I can do an
investigation of my KPIs that can be
correlated to a drop of my Recharge
revenue KPI .
For instance, I could check the total call
drop rate (KPI under the Network drop
rate KPIs in the MySubscriber sub-
module). I can use the List view, to help
me visualize the evolution in percentage
of that KPI’s value.
In this example I could see that for my
region Mons, the KPI increased by 14.6%
24. Identify where could an issue with my recharges be coming from (3/5)
For instance, if I apply the filter on the
Mobile Money, I will be able to realise
that there is a drop of 10% in relation to
recharges through that channel.
If I want to dig deeper to figure out if
the issue is coming from a certain
channel through which my subscribers
get their recharges, then I can use the
Filters feature to pick a channel and see
how the KPI (i.e Recharge revenue)
would evaluate accordingly.
25. Identify where could an issue with my recharges be coming from (4/5)
When I apply the filter only for
Distributor 1 for instance ,I can notice
that for that distributor only, the
contribution to the drop in the Total
recharge revenue KPI , in relation with
the sell-out value total KPI is of 4.3%.
Or I could investigate my distribution
thanks to KPI Explorer ‘s sub-module
My Distribution and the Filters feature to
check the contribution of each
distributor to the evolution of my
Recharge Revenu KPI.
26. Identify where could an issue with my recharges be coming from (4/5)
For instance, when we do the
breakdown for the Mons region, we
realise that our stock KPIs are
performing well (we still have units to
sell)
Yet, each component of the Sellout
value total ,ie e-Recharge,Recharge
through Money, Bundle through
recharge, Bundle through money aren’t
doing quite well! Particularly, the
sellout value physical recharges that is
dropping by 0.2%
Another point of investigation could be
to do a breakdown of the Total recharge
KPI for my region (e.g Mons).
To check each type of recharges and
their contribution to the overall value of
Total Recharge KPI

do is to first pick a view (for example the Graph view), then I just need to click on the “+” action
button and click on the download icon that says “ Export the current selection to Excel”
and my data will be downloaded. As Simple as that!
