Myositis Research Paper
Myositis In the world today, there are approximately about 10 in one million people who are affected by the disease called myositis. With it being a
rare, myositis is a disease in which the skin and muscle fibers become damaged or inflamed which result in muscle weakness. There are many different
types of myositis along with causes, symptoms, diagnosis, and treatments. Polymyositis (PM), a form of myositis, results in weakness and
inflammation of muscles in majority of the parts of the body, especially those that are closest to the trunk of the body. In lecture, we talked about the
anatomy of the muscular system which included the trunk muscles or also known as the muscles of the thorax, which included the external
intercostals, internal intercostals, and the diaphragm. Dysphagia which is difficulty in speaking or swallowing, tiredness, and pain in the muscles are
most common with this type of myositis. According to Farlex, "PM rarely affects people under the age of 20, with the peak onset between the...show

In order to find out if someone has myositis, they may have to go through different types of tests, depending on which one their doctor recommends.
These tests include, blood tests, EMG, MRI scans, and muscle biopsy. According to Michael Smith, the Chief Medical Editor of WebMD, states that
there are other causes for pain and muscles weakness other than myositis so the testing for the disease is not straightforward, making the process of
diagnosing the issue longer than it really is (WebMD). Treatments for myositis may vary depending on the cause. If the cause of myositis is due to
inflammatory conditions, the treatment may require drugs such as prednisone, methotrexate, or azathioprine in order to suppress the immune system.
Myositis that is caused by infection is usually caused by a virus which doesn't need any specific

Social Research Essay
AISHA GITTENS–HIPPOLYTE
Taking Two Of The Theoretical Approaches To Social Research Discussed In The Module, Demonstrate The Connections Between Their Ontological,
Epistemological And Methodological Assumptions. Which Method Or Methods Would Proponents Of Each Theory Favour As A Result Of Their
Assumptions.
In order to understand the production of sociological knowledge one must first examine the thought processes that lay behind each piece of research.
Before a particular subject matter is researched, the researcher firstly makes certain assumptions about that matter. These assumptions differ dependent
on the theoretical approach that is taken. They can be divided into three logical areas, namely ontology, epistemology and...show more content...
This stance excludes unobservable human experiences or 'feelings' from social knowledge as these are subjective. In line with these beliefs comes
the scientific belief of 'cause and effect'. For example, when salt is placed into water, it becomes saline. Positivists would argue that natural scientists'
laws of cause and effect can be applied in social science. That is that one social phenomenon is linked to another. For instance, a positivist might agree
that young men are more likely to commit crime than young women because the boys were given 'greater freedom' by their parents, whilst dismissing
other notions such as 'crime proves masculinity' In this example one observable phenomenon is linked to another. In essence, social facts influence
human behaviour or as Babbie (1979, p.423) summed it up, 'some things are caused by other things.'
Epistemological Assumptions
Having made these ontological assumptions it is logical to understand that the indicators and validation of satisfactory evidence are to be found on the
discovery of the existence of scientific laws which control and conduct social life.
It is also logical to understand that the researcher should remain neutral as only objective knowledge or reality constitutes evidence. The researchers
own beliefs and values must not be allowed to taint the investigation for genuine causes of behaviour.

Essay on Types Of Research
Research is done everyday. Research is used in the many different situations managers encounter everyday. Research is part of the problem–solving
manager do to make decisions. Research is defined as "the process of finding solutions to problem after thorough study and analysis of the situational
factor" (Sekaran, p3, 2003). Managers use research for daily operational problem as well as bigger problems that can require hired research consultants.
Managers who use research are able to communicate with the hired consultants because they understand the process of inquiry, investigation,
examination, and explanation. Managers are also, capable of understanding the difference in good and bad studies, and can apply the research done to

Applied research is "aimed at solving a currently experienced problem" (Sekaran, p10, 2003). This research can be as simple as finding solutions to
daily operational problems.
One problem managers consistently want research on is the relationship between customer satisfaction and loyalty. The research found on the
relationship of customer satisfaction and loyalty spans over the past decade. Many researchers argue that there is no relationship between customer
satisfaction and loyalty while others find direct correlations between the two and a business's profitability. In Roger Hadowell's study, he defines
loyalty as both behavioral and attitude while conducting his research on a banking organization. He states that behaviors including continuance,
increased relationship, and recommendations are all behaviors of loyalty to an organization (Hadowell, 1996). His research illustrates the "relationship
of profitability to customer related outcomes that managers can influence directly" (Hadowell, 1996). His findings support the hypothesis that customer
satisfaction influences customer loyalty increasing profitability. Hadowell addresses two difficulties that he encountered during his research. First,
work with the organization in order to develop the ideal measurement system used for the research. Secondly, focus on data collected over a period of
time with strong organizations (Hadowell, 1996).

Research Article Analysis
The purpose of this essay is to analyze a research peer–reviewed article in criminal justice. In this case, I chose to analyze the research conducted by
Hurst, McDermott, and Thomas (2005) titled, "The attitudes of girls toward the police: differences by race." Some of the things I will look to
analyze are: to identifying the purpose of the article, the problem, the design of the study, the operational design of the study, look to identify if any
inductive and or deductive logic were used in the article, look to identify if the research is quantitative or qualitative in nature, the methodology, the
population targeted, the sampling methods...show more content...
The researchers cited a study by Chesney–Lind and Sheldon (1998) that showed how black girls and white girls have similar but different growing
issues. The research found while both black and white girls struggle with issues of self–esteem, particularly in school, girls in predominantly white
schools are more prone to problems with body image and eating disorders while young black women are more likely to become dissociated from
school systems" (p. 587–588).
Quantitative and Qualitative Findings I was asked to identify if this research study was quantitative or qualitative and found that it was quantitative in
nature. According to Hagan (2010) the definition of quantitative is, "Investigations that involve heavy use of statistical procedures; statistical
manipulations of data considered primary in an effort to discover patterns of behavior" (p. 14). Based on this and the fact that the researchers
conducted their own research and provided statistics, I believe my finding is factual and sound.
Research Findings The findings of this research were that the outlook and perception of the police by black and white girls was very different. Based
on an estimation of a regression equation, they believed that a foretelling factor of bad attitudes toward police continues to be race. While the
researchers concluded that race was a big factor in the perception of the police by girls, the researchers also stated that

Escape Reality Research Paper
Why Do People Try To Escape Reality? Here's a question for you, is the grass really greener on the other side? Everyday people long for something
other then what they have, something different. Maybe it's a long ways away, but they can get there if they work for it. Then again, maybe not,
what happens to those people who simply can't reach their grass? Those people get depressed, take prescriptions and try and move on with their
life. Why do they need the prescriptions? What's wrong with their life? So they didn't reach goal, so they should find a new one. "One in every 10
Americans takes an antidepressant" (Wehrwein). This is the normal person. Is this really okay? Do we need these people soundings us every day,

Humans have all sorts of disorders and things like that. In this case it's called the "grass is greener syndrome" (Feiles) the grass is greener
syndrome can be contracted by anybody and is defined by "the idea that there is always something better that we are missing. So rather than
experiencing stability, security, and satisfaction in the present environment, the feeling is there is more and better elsewhere, and anything less than
ideal won't do." (Feiles). This syndrome is one out of three reasons people try to escape reality by using prescription drugs. By not reaching their
perfect reality they think they need to escape it and take prescription drugs because it's the easiest way to run away from all the pain in their life and
people use this as an excuse to get their drugs from

Market research, one of the key factors to a businesses success in its industry. The primary function of market research is to identify the customers

Other methods of carrying out primary research include "test marketing" a new or service in a particular area of the country, using a test panel or setting
up a consumer panel. For the survey to be valid the sample surveyed must be large enough to give significant results and it must be focused on a key
audience/customer. It all depends on the product or service being surveyed.
Secondary Research
Secondary or desk research is the use of existing, already collected data. This could be anything from Department of Trade and Industry reports to a
company's sale statistics. Also company reports, government statistics, and surveys published by research organisations can be used as secondary
sources of information. Desk research is quicker and cheaper than field/secondary research, but findings are not necessarily accurate or always relevant
to your product.
In the results from the research of what a business has collected is vital to the businesses survival and the difference between whether it makes a loss
or profit. The results are usually used in product development or the business aims to work around what they have found out and adapt to customers

"I feel sorry for the person who can't get genuinely excited about his work. Not only will he never be satisfied, but he will never achieve anything

expected of psychologists to do more activities involving their specialty than solely sit in an office and listen to patients. There are two specialities
that I am interested in however, over the years, these specialties have become very similar. Clinical and counseling psychology have evolved to
become one in the same. Someone who specializes in clinical psychology are more

Leadership Research Essay
Introduction
Leadership is a process of influencing activities of a particular group of people with the aim of attaining certain stipulated goals. In defining leadership
there is need to consider a particular group, the common goals and the duties that are allocated to specific members of the group depending on their
abilities (Fiedler 1976). Leadership therefore cannot successfully occur unless members of the group are given different considerations in terms of
personality, traits and responsibilities. In considering leadership, it is important to look at the leader, the group or organization they are leading, the
members as individuals and the situation; these are...show more content...
The concept of predictability of an individual is an essential psychodynamic element in my way of leadership in the sense that the theory shows that
human behaviors are predictable and understandable (Northhouse, 2007). In this sense I easily predict certain individual's behaviors based on their
personality and this makes my leadership style to be described best by psychodynamic approach. This can be illustrated by Jung's way of classifying
personality such that people's personality can be classified by understanding that human behavior is predictable and understandable, they have
preference of how they feel and think and these preferences become the basis of how they work and play their specific roles (Northhouse, 2007).
My Distinguishing Leadership Traits One of the most distinguishing leadership traits I have is the ability to instill some sense of passion to my
team and hence leave in the team members a conviction and the will to move on. I also have the quality of listening to my team; in this case I listen
carefully and consider various options to the issues raised before giving feedback. In essence, as a good leader, I involve everyone, give everyone
responsibility according to their identified abilities and make everybody accountable; thus I am responsible for my actions and the actions of my
followers. Another trait that distinguishes my leadership skills is the confidence I manifest. I communicate to my

Hypothesis and Research Question Essay example
Research questions are formulated in a study to inquire about variables, both independent and dependent variables, and the relationship between them.
Research questions are categorized into two, that is, qualitative and quantitative research questions. Qualitative questions are used in qualitative
research like case studies, surveys and action research where the approach is non–numerical and analyses special phenomena that occur in nature.
Quantitative research on the other hand is more of a systematic approach with measurable numerical quantities that go through analysis to prove a
hypothesis. Finally, the research hypothesis is either approved or disapproved with regards to the results of the analysis (Laureate Online Education B.V.

It must be logical, and provide a concrete base for any differences between the variables. It must also be simple and clear.
A hypothesis can state the following: there exists a positive relationship between employee performance and flexible working hours. Whereas a
research question could generally be: do flexible working hours affect workers productivity? You can clearly see that the hypothesis states clearly and
it is more specific in its prediction unlike the research question (eNotes.com, Inc 2011).
Hypothesis is typically used in quantitative research only. Moreover, when a question poses an inquiry on the relationship between two variables, a
hypothesis is a statement declarative in nature of the relationship between different variables (Pajares 2007). A researcher chooses whether to use a
question or a hypothesis depending on the purpose of the research, its objectives, the methodology for the research and the preference of the audience
to receive the research. A researcher must be able to interpret the final outcome with reference to the research questions or the hypothesis used (Pajares
2007). A research requires a minimum of two hypotheses namely a null and an alternative hypothesis.
So, somebody can make a certain observation and come up with a hypothesis about how and why a phenomenon occurs the way it is. Hypothesis could

Chemical Warfare Persuasive Reasearch Essay
The purpose of this essay is to deal with the fact that chemical warfare should be brought back to modern warfare strategies. As Warren Rudman said,
"And they will tell you unequivocally that if we have a chemical or biological attack or a nuclear attack anywhere in this country, they are unprepared
to deal with it today, and that is of high urgency." Rudman's words are true in what they say and that we should do everything to counter–act his
statement. Biological weapons are a key to outstanding success in war and therefore, I strongly suggest that chemical warfare is an effective and
producible weapon tactic that can be used on today's battlefield. Though biological weapons have been available for under a century, there is a long

This was a risk. (Spartacus)
The fact that we cannot use chemical weapons is a very bad thing. We could have used these weapons in the Vietnam War. With all the tall grass and
dense forests, our soldiers were not prepared for the close up combat. If we had used the chemical agents in that forest, we could have eliminated
hidden enemy forces and we would have saved many American soldiers' lives.
With the growing problem of the war in the Middle East, we could use chemical weapons in order to siphon out enemy forces hidden in houses.
Enemies will hide in houses and then emerge when we are near by surprise and they kill many soldiers by doing so. Our families are greatly
affected by the loss of a son, father, or brother. With soldiers dying every day, the problem could be fixed by using chemical weapons because they
flow into hard to attack areas. It is the only way to eliminate an enemy without radioactive nuclear force. Chemical weapons would lessen the deaths of
our soldiers.
There are many repercussions to not having a biological weapon. If we cannot reinstate chemical warfare, we will continue to lose many soldiers'
lives. Having chemical weapons is like when we came out with the UCAV. The UCAV stands for unmanned combat aerial vehicle. The UCAV got rid
of the loss of lives in the air. It made bombing targets easier. With chemical weapons, we could eliminate thousands of war related deaths. If

Importance And Purpose Of Research Essay
Importance and purpose of research
Research is important to understand, increase knowledge, and get information for social life. Social research is conducted to extend knowledge about
some aspects of society like humanities, business or any social science [asi]. Research is used to form or develop new theories in order to understand
the process behind particular event or behavior, or review the correctness of existing theories. In addition, research is also conducted to inform decisions

solution for issues, and analyzing new problems or investigating existing problems [br].
Quantitative and Qualitative Paradigm
[br] a research paradigm is a philosophical perspective that guides how scientific research should be conducted. Philosophy is 'a set or system of

What I Have Learned About Research
What I have learned about research is that it is a process, a scientific process that psychologist and scientist develop that includes many different
approaches and that is carefully peer reviewed and evaluated. There is what is called the Scientific Approach where scientist have an idea or theory
and based on their observation will either support the theory or the theory can be falsified by their peers. Data also goes through a review period
before it is published in a scientific journal by scientist who have the knowledge and expertise to evaluate it.
I also learned the difference between basic and applied research where basic research focuses mostly on things such as emotion, cognition, social
behavior, personality development, learning, and neuropsychology. Basic research will be more helpful for answering fundamental questions about the
nature of behavior. Applied research however, addresses more of a specific problem with a possible solution. Program evaluation covers a large area of
applied research. Program evaluation assesses the social reforms and innovations that occur in government, education, the criminal justice system,
industry, health care, and mental health institutions. When discussing behavioral research it is imperative to note the precedents that it has in many
fields and the significance of the applications to public policy.
A variable is referred to as any event, situation, behavior, or individual characteristic that changes or varies. Any variable

  • 2. Myositis Research Paper Myositis In the world today, there are approximately about 10 in one million people who are affected by the disease called myositis. With it being a rare, myositis is a disease in which the skin and muscle fibers become damaged or inflamed which result in muscle weakness. There are many different types of myositis along with causes, symptoms, diagnosis, and treatments. Polymyositis (PM), a form of myositis, results in weakness and inflammation of muscles in majority of the parts of the body, especially those that are closest to the trunk of the body. In lecture, we talked about the anatomy of the muscular system which included the trunk muscles or also known as the muscles of the thorax, which included the external intercostals, internal intercostals, and the diaphragm. Dysphagia which is difficulty in speaking or swallowing, tiredness, and pain in the muscles are most common with this type of myositis. According to Farlex, "PM rarely affects people under the age of 20, with the peak onset between the...show more content... In order to find out if someone has myositis, they may have to go through different types of tests, depending on which one their doctor recommends. These tests include, blood tests, EMG, MRI scans, and muscle biopsy. According to Michael Smith, the Chief Medical Editor of WebMD, states that there are other causes for pain and muscles weakness other than myositis so the testing for the disease is not straightforward, making the process of diagnosing the issue longer than it really is (WebMD). Treatments for myositis may vary depending on the cause. If the cause of myositis is due to inflammatory conditions, the treatment may require drugs such as prednisone, methotrexate, or azathioprine in order to suppress the immune system. Myositis that is caused by infection is usually caused by a virus which doesn't need any specific Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Social Research Essay AISHA GITTENS–HIPPOLYTE Taking Two Of The Theoretical Approaches To Social Research Discussed In The Module, Demonstrate The Connections Between Their Ontological, Epistemological And Methodological Assumptions. Which Method Or Methods Would Proponents Of Each Theory Favour As A Result Of Their Assumptions. In order to understand the production of sociological knowledge one must first examine the thought processes that lay behind each piece of research. Before a particular subject matter is researched, the researcher firstly makes certain assumptions about that matter. These assumptions differ dependent on the theoretical approach that is taken. They can be divided into three logical areas, namely ontology, epistemology and...show more content... This stance excludes unobservable human experiences or 'feelings' from social knowledge as these are subjective. In line with these beliefs comes the scientific belief of 'cause and effect'. For example, when salt is placed into water, it becomes saline. Positivists would argue that natural scientists' laws of cause and effect can be applied in social science. That is that one social phenomenon is linked to another. For instance, a positivist might agree that young men are more likely to commit crime than young women because the boys were given 'greater freedom' by their parents, whilst dismissing other notions such as 'crime proves masculinity' In this example one observable phenomenon is linked to another. In essence, social facts influence human behaviour or as Babbie (1979, p.423) summed it up, 'some things are caused by other things.' Epistemological Assumptions Having made these ontological assumptions it is logical to understand that the indicators and validation of satisfactory evidence are to be found on the discovery of the existence of scientific laws which control and conduct social life. It is also logical to understand that the researcher should remain neutral as only objective knowledge or reality constitutes evidence. The researchers own beliefs and values must not be allowed to taint the investigation for genuine causes of behaviour. In order

Research is part of the problem–solving manager do to make decisions. Research is defined as "the process of finding solutions to problem after thorough study and analysis of the situational factor" (Sekaran, p3, 2003). Managers use research for daily operational problem as well as bigger problems that can require hired research consultants. Managers who use research are able to communicate with the hired consultants because they understand the process of inquiry, investigation, examination, and explanation. Managers are also, capable of understanding the difference in good and bad studies, and can apply the research done to ...show more content... Applied research is "aimed at solving a currently experienced problem" (Sekaran, p10, 2003). This research can be as simple as finding solutions to daily operational problems. One problem managers consistently want research on is the relationship between customer satisfaction and loyalty. The research found on the relationship of customer satisfaction and loyalty spans over the past decade. Many researchers argue that there is no relationship between customer satisfaction and loyalty while others find direct correlations between the two and a business's profitability. In Roger Hadowell's study, he defines loyalty as both behavioral and attitude while conducting his research on a banking organization. He states that behaviors including continuance, increased relationship, and recommendations are all behaviors of loyalty to an organization (Hadowell, 1996). His research illustrates the "relationship of profitability to customer related outcomes that managers can influence directly" (Hadowell, 1996). His findings support the hypothesis that customer satisfaction influences customer loyalty increasing profitability. Hadowell addresses two difficulties that he encountered during his research. First, work with the organization in order to develop the ideal measurement system used for the research. Secondly, focus on data collected over a period of time with strong organizations (Hadowell, 1996). In the White Page Series, researcher Burke Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Reasearch Article Analysis Research Article Analysis CJA–334 November 7, 2011 Research Article Analysis The purpose of this essay is to analyze a research peer–reviewed article in criminal justice. In this case, I chose to analyze the research conducted by Hurst, McDermott, and Thomas (2005) titled, "The attitudes of girls toward the police: differences by race." Some of the things I will look to analyze are: to identifying the purpose of the article, the problem, the design of the study, the operational design of the study, look to identify if any inductive and or deductive logic were used in the article, look to identify if the research is quantitative or qualitative in nature, the methodology, the population targeted, the sampling methods...show more content... The researchers cited a study by Chesney–Lind and Sheldon (1998) that showed how black girls and white girls have similar but different growing issues. The research found while both black and white girls struggle with issues of self–esteem, particularly in school, girls in predominantly white schools are more prone to problems with body image and eating disorders while young black women are more likely to become dissociated from school systems" (p. 587–588). Quantitative and Qualitative Findings I was asked to identify if this research study was quantitative or qualitative and found that it was quantitative in nature. According to Hagan (2010) the definition of quantitative is, "Investigations that involve heavy use of statistical procedures; statistical manipulations of data considered primary in an effort to discover patterns of behavior" (p. 14). Based on this and the fact that the researchers conducted their own research and provided statistics, I believe my finding is factual and sound. Research Findings The findings of this research were that the outlook and perception of the police by black and white girls was very different. Based on an estimation of a regression equation, they believed that a foretelling factor of bad attitudes toward police continues to be race. While the researchers concluded that race was a big factor in the perception of the police by girls, the researchers also stated that Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Escape Reality Research Paper Why Do People Try To Escape Reality? Here's a question for you, is the grass really greener on the other side? Everyday people long for something other then what they have, something different. Maybe it's a long ways away, but they can get there if they work for it. Then again, maybe not, what happens to those people who simply can't reach their grass? Those people get depressed, take prescriptions and try and move on with their life. Why do they need the prescriptions? What's wrong with their life? So they didn't reach goal, so they should find a new one. "One in every 10 Americans takes an antidepressant" (Wehrwein). This is the normal person. Is this really okay? Do we need these people soundings us every day, wearing us down until we become like them? There are several reasons for there being a lot of these types of people. This essay will be about three reasons why people always think the grass is greener and want to escape reality....show more content... Humans have all sorts of disorders and things like that. In this case it's called the "grass is greener syndrome" (Feiles) the grass is greener syndrome can be contracted by anybody and is defined by "the idea that there is always something better that we are missing. So rather than experiencing stability, security, and satisfaction in the present environment, the feeling is there is more and better elsewhere, and anything less than ideal won't do." (Feiles). This syndrome is one out of three reasons people try to escape reality by using prescription drugs. By not reaching their perfect reality they think they need to escape it and take prescription drugs because it's the easiest way to run away from all the pain in their life and people use this as an excuse to get their drugs from Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Students had to putt at a distance of 20ft, and accurately hit the tennis ball between the two cylinders without knocking them down. Some environment factors that affected this assessment was that the students were only putting for accuracy and not distance, students also had a loud environment making it harder to block out unwanted stimulants and focus on the task at hand. Other methods of carrying out primary research include "test marketing" a new or service in a particular area of the country, using a test panel or setting up a consumer panel. For the survey to be valid the sample surveyed must be large enough to give significant results and it must be focused on a key audience/customer. It all depends on the product or service being surveyed. Secondary Research Secondary or desk research is the use of existing, already collected data. This could be anything from Department of Trade and Industry reports to a company's sale statistics. Also company reports, government statistics, and surveys published by research organisations can be used as secondary sources of information. Desk research is quicker and cheaper than field/secondary research, but findings are not necessarily accurate or always relevant to your product. It is limited because there are only a few specific career paths that someone could take to make good money. It is very difficult to make a fulfilling living being a garbage man. Psychology "Few fields of study offer more career opportunities than does psychology" (Sternburg 3). There are a wide selection of specialties a person could go into with a bachelor's degree in psychology. In graduate school, which is a must to attend, there is the option to explore the different specialities or to go into the desired specialty without any research of the others. There are also many options within a specific specialty. There is the option to be a teacher, to work for various organizations, be a speaker, to have your own practice, and many others. In the psychology field these options can all be combined. In fact it is expected of psychologists to do more activities involving their specialty than solely sit in an office and listen to patients. There are two specialities that I am interested in however, over the years, these specialties have become very similar. Clinical and counseling psychology have evolved to become one in the same. In defining leadership there is need to consider a particular group, the common goals and the duties that are allocated to specific members of the group depending on their abilities (Fiedler 1976). Leadership therefore cannot successfully occur unless members of the group are given different considerations in terms of personality, traits and responsibilities. In considering leadership, it is important to look at the leader, the group or organization they are leading, the members as individuals and the situation; these are...show more content... The concept of predictability of an individual is an essential psychodynamic element in my way of leadership in the sense that the theory shows that human behaviors are predictable and understandable (Northhouse, 2007). In this sense I easily predict certain individual's behaviors based on their personality and this makes my leadership style to be described best by psychodynamic approach. This can be illustrated by Jung's way of classifying personality such that people's personality can be classified by understanding that human behavior is predictable and understandable, they have preference of how they feel and think and these preferences become the basis of how they work and play their specific roles (Northhouse, 2007). My Distinguishing Leadership Traits One of the most distinguishing leadership traits I have is the ability to instill some sense of passion to my team and hence leave in the team members a conviction and the will to move on. I also have the quality of listening to my team; in this case I listen carefully and consider various options to the issues raised before giving feedback. In essence, as a good leader, I involve everyone, give everyone responsibility according to their identified abilities and make everybody accountable; thus I am responsible for my actions and the actions of my followers. Another trait that distinguishes my leadership skills is the confidence I manifest. I communicate to my Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. Hypothesis and Research Question Essay example Research questions are formulated in a study to inquire about variables, both independent and dependent variables, and the relationship between them. Research questions are categorized into two, that is, qualitative and quantitative research questions. Qualitative questions are used in qualitative research like case studies, surveys and action research where the approach is non–numerical and analyses special phenomena that occur in nature. Quantitative research on the other hand is more of a systematic approach with measurable numerical quantities that go through analysis to prove a hypothesis. Finally, the research hypothesis is either approved or disapproved with regards to the results of the analysis (Laureate Online Education B.V. ...show more content... It must be logical, and provide a concrete base for any differences between the variables. It must also be simple and clear. A hypothesis can state the following: there exists a positive relationship between employee performance and flexible working hours. Whereas a research question could generally be: do flexible working hours affect workers productivity? You can clearly see that the hypothesis states clearly and it is more specific in its prediction unlike the research question (eNotes.com, Inc 2011). Hypothesis is typically used in quantitative research only. Moreover, when a question poses an inquiry on the relationship between two variables, a hypothesis is a statement declarative in nature of the relationship between different variables (Pajares 2007). A researcher chooses whether to use a question or a hypothesis depending on the purpose of the research, its objectives, the methodology for the research and the preference of the audience to receive the research. A researcher must be able to interpret the final outcome with reference to the research questions or the hypothesis used (Pajares 2007). A research requires a minimum of two hypotheses namely a null and an alternative hypothesis. So, somebody can make a certain observation and come up with a hypothesis about how and why a phenomenon occurs the way it is. Hypothesis could be Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. Chemical Warfare Persuasive Reasearch Essay The purpose of this essay is to deal with the fact that chemical warfare should be brought back to modern warfare strategies. As Warren Rudman said, "And they will tell you unequivocally that if we have a chemical or biological attack or a nuclear attack anywhere in this country, they are unprepared to deal with it today, and that is of high urgency." Rudman's words are true in what they say and that we should do everything to counter–act his statement. Biological weapons are a key to outstanding success in war and therefore, I strongly suggest that chemical warfare is an effective and producible weapon tactic that can be used on today's battlefield. Though biological weapons have been available for under a century, there is a long ...show more content... This was a risk. (Spartacus) The fact that we cannot use chemical weapons is a very bad thing. We could have used these weapons in the Vietnam War. With all the tall grass and dense forests, our soldiers were not prepared for the close up combat. If we had used the chemical agents in that forest, we could have eliminated hidden enemy forces and we would have saved many American soldiers' lives. With the growing problem of the war in the Middle East, we could use chemical weapons in order to siphon out enemy forces hidden in houses. Enemies will hide in houses and then emerge when we are near by surprise and they kill many soldiers by doing so. Our families are greatly affected by the loss of a son, father, or brother. With soldiers dying every day, the problem could be fixed by using chemical weapons because they flow into hard to attack areas. It is the only way to eliminate an enemy without radioactive nuclear force. Chemical weapons would lessen the deaths of our soldiers. There are many repercussions to not having a biological weapon. If we cannot reinstate chemical warfare, we will continue to lose many soldiers' lives. Having chemical weapons is like when we came out with the UCAV. The UCAV stands for unmanned combat aerial vehicle. The UCAV got rid of the loss of lives in the air. It made bombing targets easier. With chemical weapons, we could eliminate thousands of war related deaths. If Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Social research is conducted to extend knowledge about some aspects of society like humanities, business or any social science [asi]. Research is used to form or develop new theories in order to understand the process behind particular event or behavior, or review the correctness of existing theories. In addition, research is also conducted to inform decisions or action to solve everyday issues such as evaluating the effectiveness of policy. [abr] and [brm] of the business research emphasis on the importance of research as getting problem–solving information. Research is the process of studying and analyzing the aspects of the issue as to explore the solution to the business. The summaries of the core objectives of research are testing existing knowledge, developing new system or generating new knowledge, seeking solution for issues, and analyzing new problems or investigating existing problems [br]. Quantitative and Qualitative Paradigm [br] a research paradigm is a philosophical perspective that guides how scientific research should be conducted. Philosophy is 'a set or system of beliefs [stemming from] the study of the fundamental nature of knowledge, reality, and existence' (Waite and Hawker, 2009, p.685). • 19. What I Have Learned About Research What I have learned about research is that it is a process, a scientific process that psychologist and scientist develop that includes many different approaches and that is carefully peer reviewed and evaluated. There is what is called the Scientific Approach where scientist have an idea or theory and based on their observation will either support the theory or the theory can be falsified by their peers. Data also goes through a review period before it is published in a scientific journal by scientist who have the knowledge and expertise to evaluate it. I also learned the difference between basic and applied research where basic research focuses mostly on things such as emotion, cognition, social behavior, personality development, learning, and neuropsychology. Basic research will be more helpful for answering fundamental questions about the nature of behavior. Applied research however, addresses more of a specific problem with a possible solution. Program evaluation covers a large area of applied research. Program evaluation assesses the social reforms and innovations that occur in government, education, the criminal justice system, industry, health care, and mental health institutions. When discussing behavioral research it is imperative to note the precedents that it has in many fields and the significance of the applications to public policy. A variable is referred to as any event, situation, behavior, or individual characteristic that changes or varies. Any variable Get more content on HelpWriting.net
