Jute is a natural fiber known as the "Golden Fiber" that comes from the stem of an annual herbaceous plant. It is one of the strongest and cheapest natural fibers. Bangladesh is the second largest producer of jute fiber in the world, with an average annual production of 1.08 million tons and average annual exports of 611 million. However, the jute fiber market in Bangladesh decreased in 2019 due to issues like water shortages and falling markets in the Middle East. The presentation recommends that the government ensure fair prices for farmers, provide more budget support to the sector, and regulate exports and manufacturing to increase economic growth.
