Technology based on biology:
to develop techniques that could
improve our lives and the health
of the planet;
exploits biological systems or
living organisms to develop those
techniques;
to combat diseases; reduce
environment footprint; feed the
hungry; use less and cleaner
energy; and have safer, cleaner
and more efficient industrial
manufacturing processes.
3. What is bioethics?
A discipline applied on biotechnolgy
fields:
to discuss what is good and what
is bad, in a moral way;
to delineate biotechnology
research;
to lead to a correct use of
biotechnologies;
4. Is it right to put science on
limits?
Along the time, science will do great progress until it
will be able to achieve anything. So it’s right that
bioethics is putting science on limits, avoiding the
overtake of life-death line (biological disasters,
weapons, taking back life), but too limits prevent
progress, which is also important.
There are many opposing opinions about surrogates,
artificial insemination, euthanasia and abort and it’s
difficult to find a right answer.
I think that anything could be tolerable only if people
are actually aware. It’s impossibile to decide «yes» or
«no» at first glance, without considering that situation
