2. Career Choice #1: Neurologist
I have always wanted to go into the medical
field because I love science and math. I love learning
about different organisms and how our body works. I
also want to go into the medical field so I can help
people, which is very important to me. I know that the
training to become a doctor or a specialist is difficult,
but I always try to work my hardest in school. One job
in the medical field that seems very interesting to me is
a neurologist. A neurologist is a medical doctor or
osteopath who has trained in the diagnosis and treatment
of nervous system disorders, including diseases of the
brain, spinal cord, nerves and muscles. Neurologists also
perform neurological examinations of the nerves of the head and neck; muscle strength and
movement; balance, ambulation, and reflexes: and sensation, memory, speech, language, and
other cognitive abilities. It would be very interesting to be a neurologist because you examine the
human brain, which is fascinating. There are also many other jobs in the medical field that I
might consider, such as a pediatrician or a pathologist.
3. Career Choice #2: Teacher
If I decide that I don’t want to become a doctor, I think that I might become
a teacher. I would want to
be a teacher for Gr. 3 and under
because I like small children. I think
I would be a good teacher because I
enjoy school, and I try to get high
marks. It also annoys me when
somebody spells something wrong,
or when they use bad grammar.
When I was in Gr. 7, I helped a Gr. 3
teacher in her classroom, which I
enjoyed. I also used to play pretend school with my brothers when I was younger. It
is very important that students are educated well, so that they can pursue any career
they want in the future. It would be very enjoyable teaching students new
information because I would be helping them be successful in the future.
