15min late-night presentation for the Product Management Berlin Meetup with the topic "Getting user stories right".
The presentation gives a brief overview about some important do's and dont's of software tickets.
Main takeaways are, that good software tickets are mainly the result of good communication and collaboration between users, stakeholders and developers. The product manager should facilitate this.
Tickets themselves should be concise but clear and consist mainly of 4 parts:
- user story which clarifies the value for the user
- business value
- acceptance criteria
- artefacts which support development, such as documentation and mockups and documentation
Both the user and business value should ideally contain KPIs, which should be measured to ensure the success of a story.
