4. It covers manufacturing, storing, packaging,
testing and transportation processes. It does
not apply to research and development
activities and the distribution of finished
cosmetic products.
 Even though the standard focuses on product
quality, it does not include the safety of the
employees engaged in production or protection
of the environment.
The guideline has been approved and
accepted by many global regulatory bodies,
such as the Food & Drug Administration (FDA),
the International Cooperation on Cosmetics
Regulation (ICCR) and the European Committee
for Standardisation (CEN).

essential oils and aromatic
materials from controlled
biological cultivation or
controlled biological wild
collection.
In addition to the careful
selection of raw materials, the
ecological impact of each
product plays an important role.

Cosmetics Association. They provide a home to all true friends of Natural and
Organic Cosmetics. NATRUE’s mission is based on two pillars which have
consumer interest at heart: - Contribute to regulatory decision-making to
ensure the availability of premium natural & organic cosmetic ingredients -
Promote and develop a strict regulatory definition of natural and organic
ingredients and finished cosmetics products The NATRUE Label is an
international standard which defines strict criteria for Natural and Organic
Cosmetics. This standard guarantees that NATRUE certified products adhere
to the strict criteria, and allows consumers to identify authentic natural products
wherever they are.

11. Certified Vegan Logo
The Certified Vegan Logo is a registered
trademark, similar in nature to the kosher
mark, for products that do not contain animal
products or byproducts and that have not been
tested on animals. The certified logo is easily
visible to consumers interested in vegan
products and helps vegans to shop without
constantly consulting ingredient lists. It also
helps companies recognize a growing vegan
market, as well as bringing the word Vegan—
and the lifestyle it represents—into the
mainstream. (Please keep in mind, however,
that the logo is not yet on every vegan
product.) The Certified Vegan Logo is currently
on thousands of products manufactured by
over 1000 companies.

12. Ecocert
Ecocert is a private organization that has
established standards for natural and organic
cosmetics. The standards define a quality
level superior to the one defined by the
French and European legislation on cosmetic
products and will safeguard a real enhanced
value of the natural substances. The standard
also defines the practice of the respect of the
environment throughout the production
process.
