This document presents a case study of a 6-year-old male patient named Mr. Moovendndhiran who was admitted for a tonsillectomy to treat chronic tonsillitis. The patient presented with a 1-month history of throat pain, 4 months of coughing, and difficulty swallowing for the past 5 days. On examination, the patient's growth and development were appropriate for his age, though he was slightly underweight. Following the tonsillectomy, the patient's self-care deficits included acute pain, fatigue, sleep disturbances, and the parents' anxiety and knowledge deficits regarding their child's condition and surgical risks.
