PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
PROFESSIONAL LEGAL CONSULTANCY:
Legal Advisor at Airmech (Pvt.) Ltd. (April 2014 to Present). I was hired to manage the company’s legal
matters relating to Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan and the Islamabad District and Sessions Court.
Also I fulfill the task of drafting and vetting of agreements relating to sale and purchase of different materials on a
regular basis.
Associate at Mufti Law Associates (August 2014 to Present). I was appointed by the law firm to manage
the Islamabad office. I have handled important assignments under the Constitutional Law, Company Law,
Employees Old Age Benefit Institution, Arbitration Law and Taxation Law. I was in charge of handling clientage
in Islamabad and ensuring effective communication between the Senior Advocates and the parties. My duties related
to civil, criminal, arbitration and taxation issues in Islamabad High Court, Arbitration Council and the Special
Courts. One of my main achievements was successfully pleading for BAIL in the EOBI scandal.
Law Counsel at Royal Green Communication Corporation dba Channel 4 Communication
Corporation (Feb 2016 to April 2016). I was engaged by this American organization for setting up and handling
the legal matters of the subsidiary company. I was involved in drafting, vetting and negotiation of different
employment contracts and ensuring communication between the international office and the regional office. I was
also a part of the recruitment committee for the regional office. One of my main achievements include successfully
negotiating a contract worth $20,000 with a local channel.
Associate at Maken & Maken Law Associates (August 2013 to August 2014). I joined as a junior associate
and for handling the day to day litigation matters in the District & Session Courts, Islamabad High Court, Capital
Development Authority (CDA) and Banking Court Islamabad. My duties included preparing memos, drafting, filing
and management of suits relating to Corporate, Civil, Criminal and Family Law matters. As a part of the team, we
successfully pleaded matters in favour of National Highway Authority (NHA) and some reputable banks.
2. PRO BONO WORK:
Faculty Supervisor to the Law Clinic at School of International Law (September 2014 to May 2016). I
was assigned to carry out research and drafting exercises on pro bono matters put forth by different NGO’s, namely
Women Aid Trust, Foundation of Fundamental Rights, SAHIL and Benazir Shelter Homes, relating to Human
Rights violations in Pakistan. Moreover I was responsible for giving students lectures on the Constitution of
Pakistan as well as local procedures, organizing moot and debating sessions for the law students relating to current
political issues such as the role of military courts, defamation laws in Pakistan and divorce laws for young non –
Muslims in Pakistan. Also, I was involved in ensuring effective communication between the NGO’s and the student
body in order to ensure timely transfer of information and opinions. One of my achievements include Organizing
the National Counter Extremism Workshop held by the National Counter Terrorism Authority and the Ministry of
Interior, Pakistan and the drafting of recommendations for the policy making process to counter extremism in the
Post Zarb e Azb era.
Legal Advisor at Women Aid Trust (June 2014 to December 2014). I was engaged by Women Aid Trust
which is an NGO working to provide for the women of Pakistan who cannot support for their legal matters. I was
involved in handling litigation matters in the District and Session Courts. In addition to this, I also managed the
annual internship program for young students to create awareness in the youth of Pakistan regarding Human Rights
violations and finding amicable solutions at various levels of the society.
Research Associate at LEAD Pakistan (December 2014 to February 2015). I was engaged in conducting
a legislative gap analysis between the current law in Pakistan and the targets of the Millennium Development Goal
7: Environmental Sustainability. This project was funded by United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and
was designed to advise authorities on the current status of the law and to make suggestions from a legal perspective.
PROFESSIONAL TEACHING & MENTORING:
Lecturer in Criminal Law at Roots IVY, University College (August 2016 to Present). I am in charge of
teaching International Criminal Law to BPP University students in the Islamabad campus. My position also involves
ensuring effective group exercises and communication between the international officials and local students.
Lecturer in Law of Contract & Criminal Law at School of International Law (September 2015 to May
2016). I was engaged to teach the University of London International Programmes LL.B students. My primary
duties included giving lectures and helping out students in their assignments. As a part of the faculty, I also mentored
students of LL.B and LL.M by giving out special classes, conducting group sessions and judging presentations in
order to help them perform better at the academic level.
