O v e r v i e w
Unfortunately, this is where I lose a lot of people before we
really even start. And here’s why. I do not agree with, “Once an
addict, always an addict.” if you do, I hope to convince you
otherwise by presenting the facts, and nothing more.
No Longer an “Addict”
If I didn’t lose you on the frst one, I more than likely will on this
one. And here’s why. I do not believe that, “Relapsing is part of
recovery.” I am extremely fierce in where I stand on this for a
plethura of varius reasons. We’ll get in to it, hang tight.
Saying Goodbye to Relapses
I have pieced this together, along with years of experience and a
lot of trial & error. My goal is for this course to point out to you
exactly what those errors are and showing you, based on facts,
that most addiction counselors, treatment centers, the recovery
community and society as a whole, GOT IT ALL WRONG., I hope
you’ll gain an entirely new perspective.
Entirely New Perspective

When you hear the word ADDICT,
you think, druggie and junkie. Fair
enough. An addict is someone who
is addicted. Duh, but what does that
mean exactly? Simply this,
“Physically and mentally dependent
on a particular substance, and
unable to stop taking it without
incurring adverse effects.” That is
what we’re dealing with. It’s
important to note that addiction is
not just physical chemical
dependency, but mental
dependency as well. That’s a big
deal because if you’ve been in
recovery

for any extended period of time,
you know the battle is in your
mind. I think people who have not
dealt with addiction, and even
some who have, tend to forget the
mental aspect of it all. If anyhting,
more emphesis needs to be put on
identifying the psychological
damage that occurs and, most
importantly, the long lasting
affects as well as irreversable,
actual brain damage. You’ll see by
the time we’re done, why our focus
needs to shift from caring for the
physical to the mental.
Addiction
*Below is some of what happens as the user gets in deeper.
After Addiction, Recovery
Thankfully, the user got out, got clean, and is rockin recovery now! Now the struggle begins. Anyone
can GET clean, but can you STAY clean? Ah, that’s the kicker right there. This takes us into our mind
where a poison is being planted. One that will infect our thought process and disrupt our recovery.
This poison has a name. It’s called “ADDICT.” Narcotics Anon, treatment centers, support groups of
all kind, everywhere, continue to call themselves addicts even though they don’t get high anymore.
They do it everywhere, all the time, all you hear is, “Hi I’m Don I’ve been clean from crack for 11
years and I’m an addict.” lol. I just can’t. It is just insane to me. Here is the prolem:
If you’re constantly told over & over again that you’re fat, eventually, you’re gonna start believing it REGUARDLESS whether
it’s true or not. To constantly, and continuously tell someone they’re an addict, when they’re clearly clean & sober, they will
start to believe it. Now, here is the the root of why this is evil: By saying, “I’m an Addict,” you are allowing your mind to
manipulate your thoughts. Listen, this is extremely important. Now your mind has one hell of weapon, a weapon of mass
destruction if you will. Believing your an addict enables that weapon to strike, at full power. That weapon, is Justification. It
goes like this:
“You’ve been clean for years, but lately, you’ve been flirting with the idea of getting high again.
And here comes your thoughts at full speed and fully armed with the ability to “JUSTIFY” it and
say it’s ok to get high, YOU”RE AN ADDICT so not only is it ok but everyone one will understand.”
It Is for that very reason I do not agree with continuing to call yourself an addict. It allows you to justify using again. You are literally seting
yourself up for failure.
Manipulates the Thought Process
Let’s Re-Cap What We’ve
Covered So Far
We started with an addiction but beat it
and went into recovery. But, while in
recovery, we continued to wear the
“addict” label. In doin so, we were
01
02
03
able to manipulate our thought process
with the ability to justify using again
hiding all of our shame and guilt and
responsibility under the umbrella of the
word addict. Like, it some how lets you
off the hook? It’s a cop out, a way to
avoid taking responsibility for your
actions.
Addiction & Recovery
Identifying Catalysts
(Still saying you’re an addict)
The thought process
The People
This is what I refer to as the turning in. Hopefully,
you got to the justification part and realized that
this way of thinking does not work. Now, you drop
the title addict, kick it to the f*$&ing curb, and
NEVER look back.
So, what’s the plan? Now that you’re truly
dedicated to recovery, some difficult things need
to take place if you want to maintain progress. We
start with eliminating ALL, not most, but ALL
sources and ties to that drug. Any and everything
that could potentially put it in view, has to go. I
call it, “Operation Clean Sweep” I realize some
people, like family, you can’t just never see them
again. So, I’ve broken it down into the top 4 that
must be severed completely, NO QUESTIONS
ASKED! It’s crucial to your success.
The Turning Point
Places
You cannot go
ANYWHERE that
you’ve been high
at, or used to hang
at.
Personal Items
Every hoodie, hat,
braclet, backpack,
brush, notebook, I
mean EVERYTHING!
Media
No more songs,
bands, tv shows,
movies, none of it
that you used to
listen to or watch.
Absolutely no one
who was associated
with that part of your
life. No contact
whatsoever!
Adapting the Art of Neglect
You’re probably wondering how in the hell you’re supposed to eliminate everything and everyone and
what? Just pretend like they never existed? Well, pretty much, yeah. Isn’t that a bit extreme? Listen, an
intense chemical dependency doesn’t just end when the physical aspect of detoxing is over. The
psychological aspect doesn’t even come into play right away. It may take weeks, or even months, but
eventually those “thoughts” will rear their ugly head. And how you handle those thoughts is what will
make or break you. Your brain wants it back, your body wants it back, so the only way to maintain
sobriety is neglect. Neglect is a verb, an action word, that means “FAIL TO CARE FOR PROPERLY” So,
what you do is start practicing neglecting negative thoughts, news programs, people arguing, or
whatever. Get into a habit of neglecting something negative every day. By doing this, your training your
mind that when something negative enters, you flip that neglect switch on and refuse to give it a second
thought. This is not easy and takes time but, it’s extremely effective and very powerful. Especially when
you come across a smell or a taste that triggers horrific memories. You immediately “FAIL TO CARE FOR
PROPERLY” any of those thoughts or temptations . You don’t even entertain them. If you get into this
habit and use it daily, I promise when something from “those days” pops up, it’s going to make all the
difference in the world.
If you’re like me, you have a family full of alcoholics, tweakers, and fentanyl
addicts. If anyone knows how hard it is to deal with temptation, let me tell
ya, it’s me. I have a very small, close family. Aunt, uncle, cousins, and a
sibling all fully functioning addicts. The temptation is always there, every
minutes of every day, it’s only a text away. You know how I get through each
day, and have for the past 18 years, neglect and a defense mechanism I
developed on my own cuz, well I didn’t really have a choice. I can’t stress to
you enough NEGLECT. Do not entertain those thoughts, anytime, ever! It
works I’m telling you. In conjunction with neglecting any thoughts of
relapsing, I came up with a way to help deflect any of it. Now this won’t
work for everyone because everyone is different. For me, when I had to be
at a family function surrounded by everyone I used to get high with and
watching them laugh and have a blast high outta their freaking minds, I
forced myself to relive, in my mind, the darkest, lonliest, coldest, and most
terrifying days as an addict.
Develop a Strong Defense
I know some people just can’t do it. Totally understandale. This is what
worked for me and proved to be very effective. So get creative and come up
with a strong defense for when you ever find yourself caught off guard and
right in the thick of it. Don’t look at it like you’re being left out while
everyone’s having the time of their life cuz you and I both know the reality
of what it’s really like. Reguardless of how “happy” they look, we know that
what goes up must comedown. Just coming down was an absolute
nightmare. Then, withdrawals and cravings and, dear God, hell NO!! I had
someone ask me once, he said, “Do you think you’ll ever go back? Statistics
say you will for sure.” I rememer thinking first of all, what a dick thing to
say, and second, go back to what? Hell and misery? Homelessness? Nah I’m
good. People who have never experienced addiction ( of this magnitude)
don’t realize what it does to you. Sure, it starts with just getting high cuz
you want to but, ever so slowly, you aren’t doing it because you want to
anymore, you’re doing it because you need to. At that point, it’s a
completely different ballgame. Now you’re doing it to just to function.
Develop a Strong Defense
Do you see now, looking back at the torture your mind put you through when you still claimed
to be an addict? Look at #2. The catalyst was continuing to carry the title addict. Look what it
lead to. #3. The last thing you want to give your mind and imagination is ammo. When you rise
up and take control over your thoughts and NEGLECT all that has set out to destroy you, you’ll
be unstoppale. I’m not telling you that you that you can’t be in recovery and continue to
relapse, but where do you draw the line? When does Relapsing just become using again? I
know recovery is hard, hell, we all do, but there is no easy way out. You can’t “ease” into
sobriety, it just doesn’t work that way. It’s a chemical dependency. The ONLY way to
completely eliminate that dependency is to completely eliminate the source, not reintroduce
it back into your system a little at a time. Just start the craving process all over again. Doesn’t
sound like much of a recovery to me. I mean, come on, how is that a solution? Bottom line is,
you gotta put in the work. That’s all there is to it. And, as with anything, you get out of it what
you put in to it.
Well, there you have it. A proven, simple, and solid relapse prevention guide to help you stay
the course and keep chasing your recovery. Thank you so much for your support and
feedback. It’s appreciated more than you can ever possibly know!

  • 3. Unfortunately, this is where I lose a lot of people before we really even start. And here’s why. I do not agree with, “Once an addict, always an addict.” if you do, I hope to convince you otherwise by presenting the facts, and nothing more. No Longer an “Addict” If I didn’t lose you on the frst one, I more than likely will on this one. And here’s why. I do not believe that, “Relapsing is part of recovery.” I am extremely fierce in where I stand on this for a plethura of varius reasons. We’ll get in to it, hang tight. Saying Goodbye to Relapses I have pieced this together, along with years of experience and a lot of trial & error. My goal is for this course to point out to you exactly what those errors are and showing you, based on facts, that most addiction counselors, treatment centers, the recovery community and society as a whole, GOT IT ALL WRONG., I hope you’ll gain an entirely new perspective. Entirely New Perspective What You ShouldTake Away From This

Addiction’s Ripples of Chaos Financal Decline Diminishing Sense of Reality Confrontations/Accusations Begin Loss of Job/Income Source Criminal Activity Ramps Up When you hear the word ADDICT, you think, druggie and junkie. Fair enough. An addict is someone who is addicted. Duh, but what does that mean exactly? Simply this, “Physically and mentally dependent on a particular substance, and unable to stop taking it without incurring adverse effects.” That is what we’re dealing with. It’s important to note that addiction is not just physical chemical dependency, but mental dependency as well. That’s a big deal because if you’ve been in recovery Addiction
  • 5. Addiction’s Ripples of Chaos Financal Decline Diminishing Sense of Reality Confrontations/Accusations Begin Loss of Job/Income Source Criminal Activity Ramps Up for any extended period of time, you know the battle is in your mind. I think people who have not dealt with addiction, and even some who have, tend to forget the mental aspect of it all. If anyhting, more emphesis needs to be put on identifying the psychological damage that occurs and, most importantly, the long lasting affects as well as irreversable, actual brain damage. You’ll see by the time we’re done, why our focus needs to shift from caring for the physical to the mental. Addiction *Below is some of what happens as the user gets in deeper.
  • 6. After Addiction, Recovery Thankfully, the user got out, got clean, and is rockin recovery now! Now the struggle begins. Anyone can GET clean, but can you STAY clean? Ah, that’s the kicker right there. This takes us into our mind where a poison is being planted. One that will infect our thought process and disrupt our recovery. This poison has a name. It’s called “ADDICT.” Narcotics Anon, treatment centers, support groups of all kind, everywhere, continue to call themselves addicts even though they don’t get high anymore. They do it everywhere, all the time, all you hear is, “Hi I’m Don I’ve been clean from crack for 11 years and I’m an addict.” lol. I just can’t. It is just insane to me. Here is the prolem: If you’re constantly told over & over again that you’re fat, eventually, you’re gonna start believing it REGUARDLESS whether it’s true or not. To constantly, and continuously tell someone they’re an addict, when they’re clearly clean & sober, they will start to believe it. Now, here is the the root of why this is evil: By saying, “I’m an Addict,” you are allowing your mind to manipulate your thoughts. Listen, this is extremely important. Now your mind has one hell of weapon, a weapon of mass destruction if you will. Believing your an addict enables that weapon to strike, at full power. That weapon, is Justification. It goes like this: “You’ve been clean for years, but lately, you’ve been flirting with the idea of getting high again. And here comes your thoughts at full speed and fully armed with the ability to “JUSTIFY” it and say it’s ok to get high, YOU”RE AN ADDICT so not only is it ok but everyone one will understand.” It Is for that very reason I do not agree with continuing to call yourself an addict. It allows you to justify using again. You are literally seting yourself up for failure. Manipulates the Thought Process
  • 7. Let’s Re-Cap What We’ve Covered So Far We started with an addiction but beat it and went into recovery. But, while in recovery, we continued to wear the “addict” label. In doin so, we were 01 02 03 able to manipulate our thought process with the ability to justify using again hiding all of our shame and guilt and responsibility under the umbrella of the word addict. Like, it some how lets you off the hook? It’s a cop out, a way to avoid taking responsibility for your actions. Addiction & Recovery Identifying Catalysts (Still saying you’re an addict) The thought process
  • 8. The People This is what I refer to as the turning in. Hopefully, you got to the justification part and realized that this way of thinking does not work. Now, you drop the title addict, kick it to the f*$&ing curb, and NEVER look back. So, what’s the plan? Now that you’re truly dedicated to recovery, some difficult things need to take place if you want to maintain progress. We start with eliminating ALL, not most, but ALL sources and ties to that drug. Any and everything that could potentially put it in view, has to go. I call it, “Operation Clean Sweep” I realize some people, like family, you can’t just never see them again. So, I’ve broken it down into the top 4 that must be severed completely, NO QUESTIONS ASKED! It’s crucial to your success. The Turning Point Places You cannot go ANYWHERE that you’ve been high at, or used to hang at. Personal Items Every hoodie, hat, braclet, backpack, brush, notebook, I mean EVERYTHING! Media No more songs, bands, tv shows, movies, none of it that you used to listen to or watch. Absolutely no one who was associated with that part of your life. No contact whatsoever!
  • 9. Adapting the Art of Neglect You’re probably wondering how in the hell you’re supposed to eliminate everything and everyone and what? Just pretend like they never existed? Well, pretty much, yeah. Isn’t that a bit extreme? Listen, an intense chemical dependency doesn’t just end when the physical aspect of detoxing is over. The psychological aspect doesn’t even come into play right away. It may take weeks, or even months, but eventually those “thoughts” will rear their ugly head. And how you handle those thoughts is what will make or break you. Your brain wants it back, your body wants it back, so the only way to maintain sobriety is neglect. Neglect is a verb, an action word, that means “FAIL TO CARE FOR PROPERLY” So, what you do is start practicing neglecting negative thoughts, news programs, people arguing, or whatever. Get into a habit of neglecting something negative every day. By doing this, your training your mind that when something negative enters, you flip that neglect switch on and refuse to give it a second thought. This is not easy and takes time but, it’s extremely effective and very powerful. Especially when you come across a smell or a taste that triggers horrific memories. You immediately “FAIL TO CARE FOR PROPERLY” any of those thoughts or temptations . You don’t even entertain them. If you get into this habit and use it daily, I promise when something from “those days” pops up, it’s going to make all the difference in the world.
  • 10. If you’re like me, you have a family full of alcoholics, tweakers, and fentanyl addicts. If anyone knows how hard it is to deal with temptation, let me tell ya, it’s me. I have a very small, close family. Aunt, uncle, cousins, and a sibling all fully functioning addicts. The temptation is always there, every minutes of every day, it’s only a text away. You know how I get through each day, and have for the past 18 years, neglect and a defense mechanism I developed on my own cuz, well I didn’t really have a choice. I can’t stress to you enough NEGLECT. Do not entertain those thoughts, anytime, ever! It works I’m telling you. In conjunction with neglecting any thoughts of relapsing, I came up with a way to help deflect any of it. Now this won’t work for everyone because everyone is different. For me, when I had to be at a family function surrounded by everyone I used to get high with and watching them laugh and have a blast high outta their freaking minds, I forced myself to relive, in my mind, the darkest, lonliest, coldest, and most terrifying days as an addict. Develop a Strong Defense
  • 11. I know some people just can’t do it. Totally understandale. This is what worked for me and proved to be very effective. So get creative and come up with a strong defense for when you ever find yourself caught off guard and right in the thick of it. Don’t look at it like you’re being left out while everyone’s having the time of their life cuz you and I both know the reality of what it’s really like. Reguardless of how “happy” they look, we know that what goes up must comedown. Just coming down was an absolute nightmare. Then, withdrawals and cravings and, dear God, hell NO!! I had someone ask me once, he said, “Do you think you’ll ever go back? Statistics say you will for sure.” I rememer thinking first of all, what a dick thing to say, and second, go back to what? Hell and misery? Homelessness? Nah I’m good. People who have never experienced addiction ( of this magnitude) don’t realize what it does to you. Sure, it starts with just getting high cuz you want to but, ever so slowly, you aren’t doing it because you want to anymore, you’re doing it because you need to. At that point, it’s a completely different ballgame. Now you’re doing it to just to function. Develop a Strong Defense
  • 12. Do you see now, looking back at the torture your mind put you through when you still claimed to be an addict? Look at #2. The catalyst was continuing to carry the title addict. Look what it lead to. #3. The last thing you want to give your mind and imagination is ammo. When you rise up and take control over your thoughts and NEGLECT all that has set out to destroy you, you’ll be unstoppale. I’m not telling you that you that you can’t be in recovery and continue to relapse, but where do you draw the line? When does Relapsing just become using again? I know recovery is hard, hell, we all do, but there is no easy way out. You can’t “ease” into sobriety, it just doesn’t work that way. It’s a chemical dependency. The ONLY way to completely eliminate that dependency is to completely eliminate the source, not reintroduce it back into your system a little at a time. Just start the craving process all over again. Doesn’t sound like much of a recovery to me. I mean, come on, how is that a solution? Bottom line is, you gotta put in the work. That’s all there is to it. And, as with anything, you get out of it what you put in to it. Well, there you have it. A proven, simple, and solid relapse prevention guide to help you stay the course and keep chasing your recovery. Thank you so much for your support and feedback.
