To:
Whom
it
May
Concern:
I
would
like
to
take
this
opportunity
to
introduce
myself.
I
am
Shawn
Smith,
and
I
can
bring
to
the
table
a
collaborative
leadership
style
that
fosters
trust
from
both
within
the
educational
community
and
outside
to
the
parental
stakeholders.
I
am
an
experienced
instructional
coach.
I
have
the
ability
to
take
complex
concepts
and
logically
break
them
down
to
make
sense
to
adult
learners.
Technology
comes
second
nature
to
me,
and
I
am
not
intimidated
by
changing
to
the
latest
and
greatest
software
available.
I
am
fluent
on
multiple
platforms
including
Windows,
Mac,
iOS,
and
Android
OS.
In
my
previous
administrative
job,
I
was
moving
a
campus
towards
one-‐to-‐one
Bring
Your
Own
Device
environment
by
strengthening
bandwidth
and
wireless
infrastructure
to
accommodate
a
solid
wireless
network.
Unfortunately,
as
a
private
school,
funds
ran
out
and
projects
had
to
be
suspended.
That
being
said,
I
developed
key
partnerships
with
several
technology
companies
(Hewlett-‐Packard,
Dell,
McLane
Intelligent
Solutions,
Trinsic
Technology,
and
Google).
I
have
a
good
working
knowledge
of
the
requirements
and
resources
needed
to
build
and
maintain
this
system
to
provide
a
quality
learning
environment
for
students.
I
believe
it
is
important
for
an
administrative
candidate
to
understand
what
is
needed
for
the
daily
operation
for
this
type
of
environment.
The
candidate
does
not
need
to
run
it,
just
be
able
to
effectively
manage
it.
In
order
to
effectively
manage,
the
administrator
needs
to
have
a
working
knowledge
of
the
system
in
place.
I
have
a
broad
working
knowledge
of
curriculum
and
instructional
delivery.
I
have
been
a
part
of
several
curriculum
design
teams
that
focused
on
changing
curriculum
to
strengthen
it
to
become
more
viable,
rigorous,
and
accessible.
Through
my
teaching
experience,
I
have
been
able
to
reach
students
in
all
core
subjects
to
help
them
succeed
in
rigorous
environments.
As
principal
of
Central
Texas
Christian
School,
in
partnership
with
the
Curriculum
Director,
we
streamlined
curriculum
and
strengthened
rigor
to
make
the
learning
experience
as
seamless
and
fluid
as
possible.
We
also
began
integrating
technology
throughout
K-‐12
curriculum
designed
to
introduce
and
reinforce
technology
skills
learned
at
school
and
home.
In
May
2013,
I
was
a
part
of
the
committee
for
redesigning
the
framework
for
the
TExES
4-‐8
Generalist
Test
with
a
focus
on
the
Social
Studies
Component.
As
a
result
of
increasing
enrollment,
I
have
also
managed
construction
and
improvement
projects.
As
Director
of
Operations
at
Central
Texas
Christian
School,
one
of
my
duties
was
to
be
the
liaison
between
contractors
and
school.
I
kept
projects
running
smoothly
and
ensured
completion
in
a
timely
manner
while
maintaining
at
or
under
budget
costs.
I
was
also
responsible
for
the
facilities,
grounds,
information
technology,
janitorial,
and
transportation
departments.
I
believe
I
would
be
a
great
candidate
for
your
vacancy
because
I
have
the
broad
experience
from
multiple
levels
of
school
operations
that
can
greatly
benefit
all
stakeholders
involved.
I
look
forward
to
a
one-‐on-‐one
conversation
about
the
possibility
of
coming
aboard.
