electronics, radar theory and the Mark-15 Close-In Weapon System (CIWS).
• Served as the Forward Mount Captain - lead CIWS technician for that mount aboard the USS
Saipan.
• Played a lead role in being awarded the CIWS Excellence Award three of the four while
stationed on board the USS Saipan.
• Maintained both CIWS mounts to 97% operability during two overseas deployments.
• Served as the lone CIWS technician liaison to our civilian contrator counterparts for the
installation of two new Mark-15 Block 1 CIWS mounts.
