John Peace Library (JPL)
Welcome to UTSA! To start off your college years on the right track, it is important to familiarize yourself with the school
and it’s resources. We will begin the tour on the second floor of the JPL, our Itinerary will be visiting the following:
Library Front Desk/Tutoring services
Upon entering the main entrance of the second floor (the west side) in the JPL , you will see (to your
left) the Library front desk. Students can take advantage of important amenities by checking out
books, movies, laptops and study rooms. Opposite the front desk down the first hallway is Tutoring
Services (north end), as well as Supplemental Instruction rooms (SI). SI provides guidance from stu-
dent leaders who have already taken courses that help students study for difficult classes. When
you walk down the hallway next to SI, in front of you will be the Information Desk. The Information
Desk provides research assistance, as well as technological support.
Information Commons/Common Rooms
To your right, there are computers available for students to use in the Information Commons (IC). To
access computers, you will need to enter your UTSA ID and password. Towards the back of the IC, is
the East Commons where more computers are available for use. In the northeast quadrant of the
Library, a Quiet Study area is available for all students.
Office of the Registrar
