From North Korea to Harlem, from Peru to Queens, Barclays welcomes five diverse young
leaders to a special panel discussion jointly hosted by the Emerge - Early Careers
Professionals and the Embrace - Hispanic, Asian, and Black Professionals networks.
Engage real-time with the panelists via mobile app as they discuss chartering paths to achieve
social change, building cross-cultural and multi-generational relationships, and finding their
passion and voice.
The first 100 attendees will be entered in a giveaway for 25 copies of panelist Yeonmi Park's
book In Order to Live: A North Korean Girl’s Journey to Freedom as well as three tote bags
crafted by a Kenyan social enterprise.

Yeonmi Park was born in Hyesan, North Korea in
1993 and fled in 2009. Yeonmi’s activism has been
featured in the New York Times, the Washington
Post, and The Guardian, and her One Young World
speech has been viewed over 3 million times. She
published her memoir in 2015 and currently studies
at Columbia.

Robert Lee grew up in Woodside, Queens and
graduated from NYU in 2013. His nonprofit
Rescuing Leftover Cuisine (RLC) rescues and
donates leftover food to homeless shelters. RLC
operates in 12 cities, with over 2,300 volunteers
and 400,000 pounds of food rescued. Prior to RLC,
Robert was at JP Morgan.

Kwame Owusu-Kesse is Chief Operating Officer of
Harlem Children's Zone, a nonprofit committed to
ending generational poverty in Central Harlem
through education, health, and community-building
programs. Before coming to HCZ in 2008, he was
an Investment Banking Analyst at Morgan Stanley.
Kwame received his MBA/MPP from Harvard.

Giancarlo Tello came to the US from Peru at age
six. As part of NJ United Students’ Tuition Equity for
DREAMers, he spearheaded efforts to pass a NJ
law that allowed undocumented students to pay in-
state tuition, signed by Governor Christie in 2014.
Giancarlo currently studies Political Science at
Rutgers.

Carlos Valenzuela was born in Brooklyn, New York
in 1992 to Guatemalan parents. As a Pro Bono
Scholar with the Safe Passage Project, he has
worked to stop deportations of minors and help
child refugees obtain permanent status. Carlos was
recently honored as "Law Student of the Year" by the
National Jurist.
