This document outlines Serena Vang's passion project for her graphic design class. The project involves creating a series of designs for a bubble tea brand across multiple components. Serena decides to create packaging designs for four bubble tea flavors: taro, coconut, peach, and brown sugar. Over the course of several trials and feedback sessions, she refines the branding name to "Mojo Tea" and develops packaging designs for powdered mix pouches of each flavor. The final designs feature simple shapes, gradients, and textures intended to look "pop-like" and detailed. Updates are provided on her progress, inspiration, design directions, and feedback received at each stage of development.
The document provides information for a graphic design project to create branding for a fictional Hmong food truck event called "Destination Me". It includes project details such as deliverables, schedule, and research conducted. The designer has chosen to create branding for a Hmong food truck called "Hmong Mastery" that will host a grand opening event. Draft designs are shown for the logo, food illustrations, patterns, colors, typefaces, stationery, and other branding elements. The schedule outlines progress towards completing all deliverables by the final deadline.

This document provides details for Serena Vang's final Typography II project called "Typography Triumph". It outlines the project requirements, including delivering mounted boards, process documents, portfolio images and a web presence. It discusses the project schedule and categories for the Type Director's Club competition. Serena then shares plans to create a planner journal focused on mental health wellness for students, providing inspiration from other designers and initial brainstorms.
This document discusses principles and best practices for collaboration within organizations. It addresses topics like establishing shared values and culture, defining roles and responsibilities across teams, implementing design systems for consistency, and emphasizing communication during the process of creating products and tools. The overall message is that collaborative work requires establishing discipline and guidelines while also allowing for flexibility and humanity between groups.
This document outlines the design process for a lamp base that incorporates upcoming trends and the brand Feiss. Research was conducted on trends for Spring/Summer 2016 from WGSN.com and StyleSight, as well as on the Feiss brand. Inspiration also came from Japanese glass balls. A sketch was created combining trends and the Feiss style. CAD software was used to render 3D models. The design was 3D printed and photographed. Finishes were added in Photoshop, including brushed nickel, iridescent glass, and wave-inspired glass globes. The process provided insight into product design careers.
This document provides an introduction and overview of the book "Google SketchUp Guide for Woodworkers" by Timothy S. Killen. The book teaches woodworkers how to use Google SketchUp to design woodworking projects in 3D. Some key points:
- SketchUp allows woodworkers to create virtual 3D models of furniture to check designs from any angle before building. This is more useful than traditional 2D CAD.
- The book covers how to model joints, furniture parts, moldings, and other woodworking elements. It also provides instructions for creating shop drawings, templates, and other documentation.
- While SketchUp has limitations for artistic shaping, it excels at detailing parts,
The document discusses different approaches to curriculum design, including models of curriculum design, starting points, and the process. It describes a "layers of necessity" model where curriculum designers choose layers based on environmental constraints and necessities. This allows parts of the curriculum design process to be completed even with limitations of time and resources. The key aspects are deciding on a starting point and approach that systematically addresses all parts of the design process.

AMA/Aquent: Data-Driven Design - Why Marketers Hold the Key to SuccessAquent
Brand-driven design in marketing is no longer enough to compete in this data-driven world. But analytics and creative departments typically do not see eye to eye. It is now up to the marketer to become the catalyst for change within the organization!
In this webcast, Gregory Ng will give solutions to build data-driven decision making into your culture, how to set goals and align your teams, and how to use your results across all marketing channels.
This document discusses design patterns for web design. It begins with an introduction of Luke Wroblewski and his background in design. It then discusses how design patterns can provide shared design languages and capture best practices. Examples of design patterns are provided for interactions like drag and drop. The rest of the document discusses how patterns are used, what they include, examples of pattern libraries, and debates their usefulness. It concludes with a discussion of aligning form labels and a discussion of the future of design patterns.
From design to testing, feature prioritization and delivery, developers are often asked to make critical UX design decisions. But we got your back with this day-long workshop about how to level up your work without having to get into some skinny jeans.
Rachel Hughes' portfolio document summarizes her work in hand sketches, SketchUp, AutoCAD, Revit families, and Revit. It includes examples of wall details, kitchen designs, houses, and buildings she modeled in these programs. The document also provides hotel project sheets from her work in Revit, including floor plans, elevations, sections, enlarged plans, details, and schedules for the White Oak Hotel.
The document outlines the steps of the Design Cycle, which divides a project's production process into organized steps to make completion easier. The steps are: 1) Investigate - gather all necessary data through research and brainstorming; 2) Design - envision what the final product will look like using the gathered data; 3) Plan - devise a timeline or schedule for how to execute the proposed design; 4) Create - actually produce the project according to the plan and design; 5) Evaluate - assess if the design was correctly implemented and determine if improvements are needed, which may require revisiting earlier steps. Following these steps allows projects to be finished without panic.
Modularity Matters: Bringing Atomic Design to Sitecore DevelopmentSue Klumpp
Presented by Brian Beckham and Anastasiya Ropatenko, BrainJocks
Presented at SUGCON NA 2015 - Sitecore User Group Conference, October 2, 2015
It's time to tear up the page--or at least our view of the page as the unit for building a website. Atomic design offers a systematic, modular approach to web development in which simple building blocks are combined to form more complex elements. The page that was once a single unit becomes a construct, built up of portable, reusable components that can be shared across the site or other sites in a web ecosystem. This session will explore how an atomic approach can be applied to any Sitecore development project, the advantages that surface both initially and over time and lessons learned from some real websites built with atomic interface architecture.
This document discusses the importance of collaboration, communication, and establishing principles and guidelines when working in teams. It addresses challenges like differing approaches, technologies, and opinions that can arise. The document suggests researching user needs, establishing shared values and priorities, and creating design systems to promote consistency. Overall, it advocates for establishing processes and tools to facilitate interdisciplinary cooperation and coordination across organizations.

This document provides a template for a startup retail deck presentation. It includes sections for an introduction, company overview, timeline, products and services, target numbers, SWOT analysis, pricing, market research, team members, history, and contact information. The template contains over 20 slides with instructions and placeholders for company logos, images, text, and other custom content.
This document discusses bringing an atomic design approach to Sitecore development. It introduces atomic design principles which involve building up small reusable components (atoms) into larger molecules and organisms. These can then be assembled into templates and pages. The document demonstrates how this approach can be translated to Sitecore by creating renderings, data templates and other items to represent atoms, molecules, organisms etc. It discusses challenges of the approach and benefits such as improved portability, consistency and extensibility.

PASSION PROJECT
Within a single media/medium, the goal is to create and design mul-
tiple editions (or a series) of items espousing a notion, conception,
abstraction, theory, hypothesis, or conviction you are knowledgeable
and passionate about.
The project must have at least four components that clearly commu-
nicate your intentions, and work together conceptually and visually as
a series. All other aspects are determined by you.
DELIVERABLES
• Three mounted 15” x 20” boards
• PDF digital presentation of your process with Heroshots
• Featured website link (Behance is fine)
3. SERENA VANG | GRAPHIC DESIGN 3 | SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT | FEB 2022 | 3
SCHEDULE
FEBRUARY 10
Prepare a presentation introducing the class to
your “belief.” Propose several media/medium
directions with well-defined deliverables. Include
inspirational research that sets a mood, style, and
tone for your project’s visual and conceptual ori-
entation. If time allows, share any preliminary con-
cepts and directions you may be thinking of at this
time, but not at the expense of your research.
FEBRUARY 15
Commit to a single media/medium direction and
deliverables. Establish a working production
schedule through the March 8th deadline. Clearly
convey aesthetic expectations.
FEBRUARY 17
Strive to produce your full series. Use placeholders
where necessary, but be able to show what they
stand for. Also, provide at least one source of visu-
al inspiration for the person on your left. Include as
a separate slide at the end of your process PDF.
FEBRUARY 22
Unmounted black and white printouts (may sur-
prise you!) (maybe a color trial). PDF color repre-
sentations. Continue to build on Process PDFs, but
in class we will concentrate on viewing your actual
project progress.
FEBRUARY 24
First rounds of final designs. Revisit inspiration.
Incorporate references and recommendations from
last critique.
MARCH 1
Second rounds of final designs. Strive to be com-
plete and finished. Revisit inspiration. Incorporate
references and recommendations from last critique.
Refine PDF formatting.
MARCH 15
Final critique - this is the final deadline. Not being
ready to present, even if absent, will result in a sig-
nificantly reduced grade. See syllabus.Mount hero
shots on three vertical 15” x 20” matt boards.
Label your process PDF with LastFirst name, i.e. Du-
FresneJohn.pdf
MARCH 17
We’ll continue the I Believe! critique. Be sure your
final files have been left on the classroom comput-
er for final grading. Fix any PDF issues. Post your
project hero shots, etc. to your Behance or portfolio
website.

BUBBLE TEA IS THE BEST
All the projects I’ve done so far have been about things I’m passionate
about such as mental health, organization and journaling, personality
theories, colors, and such...but I haven’t touched based on the things
that just bring me joy the moment it is mentioned...and that is Bubble (or
Boba) tea drinks!
Whenever I have a bad day or lack a lot of energy, I always know that
getting a bubble tea drink will always re-energize and make me happy!
5. SERENA VANG | GRAPHIC DESIGN 3 | SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT | FEB 2022 | 5
6. SERENA VANG | GRAPHIC DESIGN 3 | SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT | FEB 2022 | 6
DESIGN IDEA
I want to create a packaging design for 4 bubble tea flavors!
• Taro
• Coconut
• Peach
• Brown sugar (Tiger)
The packaging design will be based on powder mix pouches
for the flavors. In my mockups I also want to possibly put a
designed logo on bubble tea cups if I have enough time.
7. SERENA VANG | GRAPHIC DESIGN 3 | SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT | FEB 2022 | 7
SWEET.JOY.CHILL
The personality of the packaging should represent sweetness,
joy, and chill. That’s what bubble tea is for me.
It’s sweet to your level, brings joy after a long day of work, and
a chill drink to just chill.
8. SERENA VANG | GRAPHIC DESIGN 3 | SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT | FEB 2022 | 8
MOCKUPS IN MIND
I found some mix pouch mockups that could be used!
16. SERENA VANG | GRAPHIC DESIGN 3 | SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT | FEB 2022 | 16
Direction of style
My main inspiration will be Werner’s poster for TDC, however
with a boba cute and pop aesthetic style.
In other boba places, I notice that their design is...
• Type based
• If it is a graphic design, it is mostly a simple mascot head
• Contemporary circle badages
When it comes to boba flavor mixes, they aren’t very creative
looking compared to coffee pouches.
17. SERENA VANG | GRAPHIC DESIGN 3 | SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT | FEB 2022 | 17
Brand name?
Whenever I get boba, it always puts me in a good mood! So I
came up with a few brand names:
• Boba Smile
• GoGo Boba
• BobaPop
• Mana Boba
• HpBoba
• Boba Yes
• Boba Yum
• Mojo Boba
• Boba Charm
• PosiTea

New changes
OLD NEW
• Changed the closed-counters
inside the vowels
• Added an exclaimation mark
• Capitalized T, tweaked M
• The o's look like japanese tea
cups, which I think is nice
• T was an outlier or stood out
too much, not much meaning
• Closed counters are inconsistent

MORE CHANGES WITH THE LOGO
FIRST SECOND THIRD
• Changed the closed-counters
inside the vowels
• Added an exclaimation mark
• Capitalized T, tweaked M
• The o's look like japanese tea
cups, which I think is nice
• Made the T a little thicker and
taller
• Changed the exclaimation
mark as an upside down j
• Tweaked the M's width and
height
• T was an outlier or stood out
too much, not much meaning
• Closed counters are inconsistent

Final draft
I wanted the designs to look more detailed and pop-like, so I
went around the St.Paul area and found a few beverage pack-
aging designs for inspiration.
What I liked about these designs are the simple shapes, gradients, and color palette.
They look contemporary and designed accordingly to their mission statements.
