Friday
  October
  30th,
  2015

To
  whom
  it
  may
  concern,

It
  is
  with
  great
  pleasure
  that
  I
  write
  this
  letter
  of
  recommendation
  for
  Sean
  Cornell.
  As

Sean’s
  primary
  advisor
  for
  his
  role
  as
  the
  Outreach
  and
  Recruitment
  Director
  for
  the

Student
  Association
  at
  the
  University
  of
  Wisconsin
  Milwaukee,
  I
  can
  confidently
  speak
  to

his
  skills
  and
  talents
  in
  pursuing
  a
  future
  career
  in
  marketing
  and
  public
  relations.

Sean
  started
  his
  position
  with
  the
  Student
  Association
  in
  the
  spring
  of
  2015,
  after
  there
  was

a
  significant
  period
  of
  time
  with
  a
  lack
  of
  strong
  outreach
  and
  recruitment
  and
  a
  vacancy
  in

his
  position.
  Sean
  jumped
  into
  the
  outreach
  and
  recruitment
  position
  head-‐on
  and
  quickly

began
  recruiting
  students
  to
  fill
  vacancies
  in
  the
  Senate.
  He
  displayed
  a
  committed
  work

ethic
  and
  stellar
  ability
  to
  work
  independently
  and
  self-‐motivate
  in
  a
  position
  that
  requires

a
  lot
  of
  time
  and
  attention.

This
  semester,
  Sean
  has
  gone
  above
  and
  beyond
  and
  led
  the
  recruitment
  efforts
  of
  the

Student
  Association
  in
  a
  way
  that
  has
  led
  to
  a
  nearly
  full
  Senate
  for
  the
  first
  time
  I
  have

experienced
  in
  my
  role
  as
  an
  advisor.
  In
  an
  organization
  with
  53
  formal
  student
  roles,
  and

dozens
  of
  other
  informal
  roles
  for
  students
  on
  committees,
  and
  at
  a
  university
  with
  a

significant
  commuter
  and
  non-‐traditional
  population,
  recruiting
  and
  retaining
  members

can
  be
  quite
  a
  challenge.
  As
  of
  today,
  50
  of
  the
  53available
  formal
  positions
  are
  filled,
  and

the
  vast
  majority
  of
  the
  committee
  seats
  are
  filled
  as
  well.
  Sean
  played
  a
  critical
  role
  in

reaching
  out
  to
  key
  stakeholders
  and
  constituencies
  to
  not
  only
  fill
  these
  seats,
  but
  also

identify
  emerging
  student
  leaders
  who
  would
  transform
  and
  enhance
  the
  Student

Association.
  We
  also
  recently
  held
  an
  election
  for
  the
  five
  available
  freshman
  senate
  seats,

an
  election
  that
  has
  historically
  lacked
  participation
  and
  awareness
  on
  campus.
  Sean

assisted
  in
  the
  recruitment
  of
  15
  total
  candidates
  for
  those
  five
  spots,
  and
  election
  turnout

with
  over
  4,000
  votes.

Sean
  has
  been
  an
  incredible
  asset
  to
  the
  Student
  Association,
  not
  only
  because
  of
  his

recruiting
  skills,
  but
  also
  the
  professionalism
  and
  collegiality
  he
  brings
  to
  the
  organization

as
  a
  whole.
  The
  impact
  of
  the
  work
  he
  has
  done
  this
  past
  year
  has
  set
  the
  organization
  on
  a

significantly
  positive
  track
  for
  the
  next
  several
  years
  and
  I
  believe
  whole-‐heartedly
  that
  he

will
  excel
  all
  of
  his
  future
  endeavors.

Thank
  you
  so
  much,
